Sting - Bring on the Night in 1986 with my first paycheck. That's also when I bought my first CD player.

My first was Tom Cochrane's Life Is A Highway. That CD got stolen 2 years ago when my car got broken into and I just had to replace it. I bought that disc about 6 months before I got my first CD player.

Ozzy Osbourne-The Ultimate Sin. That was back in 1986 when I got my first CD player, and believe me, there wasn't much of a selection of CDs at the local stores back then. I had to go up to Toronto (Sam the Record Man!) to find any decent CDs at the time.

I know what my first record was (well the group anyway): Gladys Knight and the Pips, but I'm not positive on my first CD. It might have been "The Fall: Extricate" since I've had that a long time and it came out about when I got my first CD player (1990, with some of my wedding money; also when I got my first color TV).

First CD:

Got this several months before I had a CD player so I could have the banned cover.

First cassette:

My mother bought "Eddie Murphey Comedian" for me when I was a youngster, as I used to like him on Saturday Night Live.

She was horrified.

Hey, Norton! Come over here, Norton! Norton, my friend, how would you like to...

The very first album I bought was Billy Joel's "Greatest Hits Vol. 1 and 2".

I still have that album today and never got rid of it. I loved Billy Joel ever since.

Looks like there's a common link between all these CD's... they all totally *suck*

Allow me to reverse the trend with *my* first CD "Paula Abdul - Shutup and Dance"

Oh, wait...

I think it's kinda funny that I even remember the first CD I ever bought. But I guess it makes some sense since, at the time, music CDs (AKA Compact Discs) were only a year old or so and I thought they were so cool I just had to have them. I bought a relatively cheap RCA CD deck from Crazy Eddies (remember those mofos?) and I went out the next day and bought Dark Side of the Moon, the first version, the one printed in Japan with the black Harvest label. The sound blew me away and I never went back to LPs again.
