I think the NEW Q-Tip will open some eyes. His last one was pretty weak, but from what I've heard (maybe?) online from the new one, it'll be nice.

The Roots, BlackStar, Common, De La Soul, J-Live, J5, BEP and Dilated Peoples are some of my favorites.

I think when he said the NEW q-tip, he meant the as yet unrealeased one.

And yes, amplified was crap!

Hrmm, that's strange. MF Doom used to be Zev Love X of KMD fame, and I actually liked his album. Then again, I got the KMD Black Bastards release, which I had been waiting for since it was supposed to come out F YOU ELEKTRA!

Amen to that but how come nobody has said Dead Prez? Lets Get Free is probably the best album never to sell.

Coming from someone that listens primarily to real "house" music, I understand all the suckeke mainstream crap...
I listen to various genres, and I agree, real hip hop is the only way to go..

hip hop artists I have seen live in the last year or so:
Cannibal Ox
Aesop Rock
Mos Def
Living Legends
The Roots
Outkast
Talib Kweli

I wanna see the Pharcyde, Del, and others..

You all really must buy Blackalicious' latest. There's really no rational alternative.

During the "concious" era in the early 90s, I was into:

X-Clan
Bran Nubian
PRT
Grand Puba
Ice Cube
Da Lench Mob
Askari X
Kamm
Chuck D
The Farrekahn Brothers

But after that I went back to 80s British Alternative Rock
