^Those are great! Looks like AI has gotten a lot better at making video. Hardly any of that weird morphing of the images like you used to see.

Man, I never realized until seeing that Gilligan's Island video how much of the cast could be mapped to ABC's Lost.

I watched a few of those a couple of months ago, and I thought they were emotionally flat. They were good looking but didn't make me want to see the movie.

There's still a fair amount of 'uncanny valley' effect, I think. Despite the advances, the people still don't move and emote in ways that seem completely natural. And the 'HDR' quality of some of the visuals also give them that not-quite-real feeling.

They still look like AI imagined and created them. I'm sure a real human with a modicum of wit and intelligence, who's actually seen and knows these shows, could make funnier and much better fake trailers using genuine footage from "Gilligan's Island" and "Love Boat."

Not really in keeping with the thread, but close enough for me to post it here.

That looks like something Robert Rodriguez would make. And I would watch the fuck out of it.

That trailer is insane! How much actual footage from existing films was used and what's the ratio to computer/AI-created footage?

(I love that Jackson sports his Pulp Fiction jheri-curl haircut.)

I’d wager that it’s all AI, even the stuff that looks remarkably similar to the real footage. At this point, many programs have probably already been ‘trained’ – legally or otherwise – on every movie currently available, and you can just mix and match actors and costumes and ‘locations’ as you see fit. Still lots of uncanny weirdness, even in that Star Wars trailer, but you can see the improvement over many of the older clips in this thread. At this point you can pretty much make your own movie, starring whoever you want. The only question is at what point will it become indistinguishable from the real thing, and at what cost.

If it is indeed all AI, imagine what a great tool it'd be to pitch movies or previsualize sequences.

True enough. Unless you pitch to Troma, Asylum, Full Moon or the like, where’d they probably just slap a title on your pitch video and release it!

"Can you make the whole movie this way so we won't have to pay actors anything?"

Has nothing to do with 1950s Super Panavision 70, but this may be the best full AI trailer yet

That definitely one of the best ones yet. The usual AI flaws are there, but they’re disguised by the fast cutting, Hollywood-level shot design, and mouths actually matching the dialogue, all of which were generally lacking in so many of the earlier fake trailers. Gettin’ scary now . . .

Kinda goofy in execution, but I dig some of the casting choices.

^ That’s pretty cool! Even if Steve McQueen turned into Peter Weller halfway through.

Biggest complaint is that Hal Jordan was based on Paul Newman. So close with Redford

And Redford started to look a little like Armie Hammer.

And I thought Mark Hamilll looked like Bill Skarsgard.

Plus it looks like we're getting closer to having a full re-creation of good ol' London After Midnight. This is the best attempt I've seen yet.

That fake trailer was pretty terrible. I hate AI.

I wish I lived in a reality where this movie had actually been made in the '70s with that cast.
