AI voices are a relatively popular thing. I know I love me some Johnny Cash singing Baby Got Back.

Yeah, but the original characters are 29 years old and what kind of audio samples are they getting these voices from? It doesn't make sense to me to use voices from the original movie and say oh hey we have the technology now.

The killers are using AI voices to screw with Sidney.

Probably best if everyone avoids that trailer. Well cut but yea it gives away a lot.

This is a result of Captain America messing with the timeline.

^ Nothing like paying $16 million for a one minute spot and you still can’t call it the “Super Bowl”.

The final scene will be Scream 1 Sydney waking up and hearing someone in the shower. She opens the shower door and Billy from Scream 1 turns around. The end.

I met Lee Waddell who played Ghostface in Scream 1 and 2 on Saturday at a horror Con. Got this signed photo.

He was very cool and took the time to chat with me.

Is there a legitimate reason for that, or is it marketers just being weird?

New official art, an homage to the original Scream one sheet. Interesting that Lillard is credited prominently, unlike Arquette and Foley. Perhaps more than a voice changer cameo for Stu after all?

When Marks collide:

^ From the Today Show last week. There was no mention of the Scream connection, but McHale should have thanked Dempsey on-air for passing on this movie.

Ehhhh if I was a bigger Scream fan (and sometimes I think I'm too big of a Scream fan as it is) I wouldn't mind that for say $20. I'm sure it's $40 minimum.

Still weird to me why McHale's character is also named Mark and it's not a part being recast. Why not just have him with a different name? Was Mark even mentioned in Scream 6 (when Gale said Sidney was staying out of it)?

Yep. Dewey also asked "How's Mark?" during his phone call to Sidney in the fifth movie.

Still begs the question why this new character (apparently) is also named Mark. I assume there is a replace function for screenwriting programs...

Not sure if it's relevant or not, but I personally know THREE people all named "Mark," and can think of at least two famous people also named that, so....

Why does the trailer say February "27" and the poster "26"?

Because the screenwriters counted their chickens before they hatched by referencing Sidney having a family with "Mark" in the last two sequels. After Dempsey passed on that plan, it was easier to just say it's a different guy with the same (very common) first name instead of recasting Detective Kincaid. It appears they did little to alter the husband role after the change, since McHale's character is also law enforcement.

Tickets are not on sale yet. But Thursday the 26th is an opening night fan event, which I assume will have some kind of giveaway. I don’t know if smaller cities or smaller theater chains will do it or not.

Makes a bit of sense, I guess.

Hopefully Syd survives so she can fight Ghostface on a space station in Scream 8.
