Re: Thunderbolts* (2025, D: Schreier)

I know nothing aout the Thunderbolts comic title (after my time collecting), so this is going to be a blank slate for me.

I like the trailer. This looks like fun.

Might be in the minority but this trailer did nothing for me.

^^ is that the first promotion material to note what the asterisk was for? "*The Avengers are not available"

Re: Thunderbolts* (2025, D: Schreier)

I hope this goes somewhere exciting. Reading about the Thunderbolts plots make it seem there's a lot to this in the MCU (without adding spoilers).

Given the less exciting nature of the newest group of films, I'm not sure we'll get anything. I'm still not quite sure why they hold back so much. My understanding of it (and disappointment) started with Wandavision going nowhere, where the fan predictions seemed like a lot was coming. And that was ... almost five years ago.

Judging by that new poster, it appears they all are.

Re: Thunderbolts* (2025, D: Schreier)

Having seen the trailers , I think this movie does have potential. I just think given its nature it shouldn't be some bigger budget affair. I think that since this is about lesser known characters who are down on their luck, this would work best as a low budget action comedy with an R rating. The kind Canon films used to make.

Yeah, each poster makes it clear she is the focus.

I like Yelena (she was the best part of Black Widow), so I am cool with that.

Given Sebastian Stan's recent Oscar nomination, might they shift focus on him before the movie's release?

No. Nobody's seen the movie, no one cares about it. Florence is the clear star to be front and center for this film's promotion.

Stan and Harbour will be part of the promotion, since both of them are beloved actors and both have been playing real characters in the MCU. No one knows Hannah John-Kamen, everybody has forgotten about Olga Kurylenko and Wyatt Russel is still making a name for himself. Florence Pugh is defintely the first among equals.

If he had won the Oscar, they may have started to focus on him more. But I disagree that nobody has seen the movie and no one cares about it. I've seen it and felt Stan did a good job. But yes, Florence is the focal point because she is currently the biggest star of the bunch.

New trailer is pretty cool. Finger's crossed they go for an R rating.

I just want an action movie that gets it right. Feels like it’s been a decade.

Re: Thunderbolts* (2025, D: Schreier)

So that promo clip was real? Just not feeling this Thunderbolts movie... maybe it matches Cap4 and makes 400m is my guess. But it's a one off movie that shouldn't have been greenlit imo, Far more important is the Fantastic Four film as they may play a role going forward - to what extent probably depends on how the film does.

This kind of promotion works for me because I tuned out the MCU a couple years ago, in part because it was so self-serious. Making one of these movies look like real fun is the only thing that will get me to go to a theater to watch it.

Re: Thunderbolts* (2025, D: Schreier)

if this is proto-Avengers, I highly suspect that only a few make it out alive.

Bucky and new Black Widow are a lock...

I suspect US Agent and Red Guardian are gonzo.
