Thought the first was pretty great until it derailed at the end with the ridiculous Christopher Lloyd and his shotgun. I'd see a sequel for sure though.

Good to know, Nobody was my favorite movie from 2021 so I welcome a sequel.

I really enjoyed the first one so I’d welcome a sequel for sure.
I worry that the first one was such a welcome surprise because no one expected Odenkirk to be a badass action star. A fact that the filmmakers used to their advantage for the first half of the movie (and no doubt why Odenkirk was cast in the first place). Part 2 won’t have any of that. I’m not entirely sure where things could go with the characters that would feel fresh.

Filming will reportedly take place starting January 6, 2025 in Winnipeg.
So I guess if this goes through, they are targeting a late 2025, early 2026 release?

The estimated budget of Nobody was only $16 million. I'm sure everyone involved will get raises but if the budget is kept lower the sequel could be a modest sized hit. Its the kind of movie Hollywood needs to start making again.

Get ready for some more 'geri-action,' as Collider has exclusively learned that Nobody 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2021 hit Nobody, is slated to begin filming from August to October this year. The sequel is aiming to bring back the adrenaline-pumping action that made the original a fan favorite, with Bob Odenkirk and Connie Nielsen reprising their roles. The first Nobody was directed by Ilya Naishuller and written by Derek Kolstad, who also created the John Wick series. Naishuller won't return to direct the sequel and Collider has learned that they're still in the process of finding the perfect director for the film. In addition to the search for a director, Nobody 2 is also in the process of casting for the sequel, which will film in Winniepeg once again, so fans can expect a casting announcement soon.

There would be an issue with rights as the characters are from different studios.

EXCLUSIVE: 2x Emmy winner Bob Odenkirk has closed a deal to return for Nobody 2, a sequel to the acclaimed 2021 action thriller from Universal Pictures and 87North.
Timo Tjahjanto (The Night Comes for Us) will direct from a script by Derek Kolstad (John Wick, Nobody), Aaron Rabin (Jack Ryan), Odenkirk, and Umair Aleem (Kate). Kelly McCormick and David Leitch are returning to produce through 87North’s first look deal with Universal, as are Odenkirk, Marc Provissiero through Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment, and Braden Aftergood through Eighty Two Films.
Slated for release on August 15, 2025, the film will be overseen for Universal by Executive Vice President of Production Development Jay Polidoro and Director of Development Tony Ducret.
While plot details for the sequel are being kept under wraps, the original film centered on Hutch Mansell (Odenkirk), a seemingly ordinary suburban father who suppresses his past as a deadly government assassin. After a home invasion shakes his family, Hutch’s dormant rage and skills resurface, propelling him into a violent conflict with a Russian drug lord.
Directed by Ilya Naishuller from a script by Kolstad, the darkly comedic and compellingly choreographed actioner debuted at No.1 at the domestic box office, grossing over $57M worldwide upon its release by Universal amid the transition out of the Covid pandemic, in March 2021.
Best known for his role of Saul Goodman in AMC’s Breaking Bad and prequel Better Call Saul, Odenkirk most recently exec produced and starred in the college-campus dramedy Lucky Hank, also for AMC. This fall, in addition to filming Nobody 2, he’ll re-team with Kolstad on Normal, a crime thriller to be directed from Kolstad’s script by Ben Wheatley (Free Fire).
A rising filmmaker out of Indonesia, Tjahjanto got his start by directing V/H/S/2 segment “Safe Haven” alongside Gareth Evans. He went on to direct the thrillers The Night Comes for Us and May the Devil Take You, both of which premiered at Fantastic Fest and are currently on Netflix. Among the director’s other upcoming projects is the Indonesian action thriller The Shadow Strays.

I wouldn't expect Sharon Stone as the villain but maybe she'll surprise us and be good in her role.

Same as Odenkirk being a bad boy that no one would think of. So, she could be perfect casting.

Nobody 2 (2025; D: Timo Tjahjanto) S: Oedenkirk, Nielsen, RZA, Lloyd

Sometimes the most dangerous place for a dad is a family vacation.
Bob Odenkirk returns as suburban husband, father and workaholic assassin Hutch Mansell in the new chapter to Nobody, the hit 2021 bare-knuckle action-thriller that opened at number one at the U.S. box office.
Four years after he inadvertently took on the Russian mob, Hutch remains $30 million in debt to the criminal organization and is working it off with an unending string of hits on international thugs.
Much as he likes the slam-bang action of his “job,” Hutch and his wife Becca (International Emmy nominee Connie Nielsen) find themselves overworked and drifting apart. So, they decide to take their kids (Gage Munroe, Paisley Cadorath) on a short getaway to Wild Bill’s Majestic Midway and Waterpark, the one and only place where Hutch and his brother Harry (Grammy and Emmy nominee RZA) went on a vacation as kids.
With Hutch’s dad (Emmy winner Christopher Lloyd) in tow, the family arrives in the small tourist town of Plummerville (“Plummerville is Summerville!”), eager for some fun in the sun. But when a minor encounter with some town bullies yanks the family into the crosshairs of a corrupt theme-park operator (John Ortiz; Fast and Furious franchise, Bumblebee) and his shady sheriff (Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Colin Hanks), Hutch finds himself the focus of the most unhinged, blood-thirsty crime boss he (or anyone) has ever encountered (Emmy winning and Oscar® nominated screen icon, Sharon Stone).
Nobody 2 is an 87North/Eighty Two Films/Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment production, directed by Timo Tjahjanto (The Night Comes for Us, The Big 4). The screenplay is by returning writer Derek Kolstad (John Wick, Die Hart) and by Aaron Rabin (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), from a story by Derek Kolstad, based on characters created by Derek Kolstad. This film’s returning producers are 87North founders Kelly McCormick (Bullet Train, The Fall Guy) and David Leitch (Bullet Train, The Fall Guy); Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment founder Marc Provissiero (No Hard Feelings, PEN15), Eighty Two Films founder Braden Aftergood (Hell or High Water, Samaritan); and Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad). The executive producer is David Hyman.
