Can't fucking wait. Nobody was surprisingly amazing so more of the same sounds just perfect.

^ Hopefully this might drive some attention to his previous film SHADOW STRAYS which, like so many foreign films and festival favorites, basically went straight to Netflix and seemingly died there.
. (and plenty of his earlier films are still worth checking out to see that NOBODY 2 is definitely in his career-long wheelhouse).

I was perusing his IMDb entry and noticed that BEEKEEPER 2 is listed as an upcoming project. Obviously that may or may not happen, but he’d certainly be an ideal match for Statham’s brand of revenge pictures.

Looks like lots of fun. Loved the first, so I am definitely looking forward to this one. However, I hope the fights, despite how they are presented in the trailer, remain in the relatively low key style of the first. I kinda like how it was a non-flashy John Wick (even more grounded than the first film in that franchise).

I was very surprised to see this trailer on YouTube yesterday and even more confused that he is now a big baddie. Looks like mindless fun though!

I still have mixed feelings about this one. On it's own, it looks awesome and I can't wait to see it. But it bothers me that it looks so over-the-top when the first film was far more grounded, with only a few over-the-top flourishes.

Nobody 2 (2025, D: Tjahjanto) S: Odenkirk, Stone
Nobody 2 in theaters on August 15
Looks fun! I've watched the first one a couple of times. Bob Odenkirk, Connie Nielsen, and Christopher Lloyd return, and it looks like Sharon Stone is the villain.
ETA: Thanks for the move, mods. I swear I searched and couldn't find a thread for this movie. (Probably because I was using the correct spelling for Odenkirk.
)

I just came back from a Dolby Cinema showing. It was entertaining, but didn't quite grab me like the first one. I didn't recognize the villain was Sharon Stone, so I was surprised when I saw her name in the credits. It felt long for a movie that wasn't even 90 minutes, the big finale starts at only an hour into the movie, and had some crazy Home Alone traps mixed in for some variety in the kills I guess.

I saw it tonight. It was fun. Odenkirk was pretty badass like the 1st movie. Lots of gruesome fights and kills. Nothing really deep to analyze. It was nice seeing these characters again. And yes, I didn’t recognize Sharon Stone at all as the main villain.
Colin Hanks was also good as the white trash, douchebag Sheriff. Funny how they gave him a total Red Neck haircut.
And Connie Nielsen looks great for 60.
The running time for me flew by. Some of you will probably appreciate a short and sweet action movie. M
I would give it 3 out of 5 stars and probably a B.

All of the reviews I've seen say it's more of the same but that's not a bad thing. I hope to go see it but I want to watch my 4k of the first movie before I do.

Watched last night. Similar feelings like others have said. If you enjoyed the first one you'll probably like this one. It's just easy fun. Bob was great. I was a little disappointed in Sharon, I couldn't tell if it was her dialogue or the way she was saying them, but something was off.

Watched the first one for the very first time last night and decided to give the sequel a go today. Both movies are lots of fun, even though the second one is more focused on that aspect than the first IMO. However, I will acknowledge that the first one is the better overall movie. That being said, these are both short and to the point movies that make for a great double feature. Stone's acting was a bit over the top in this, but I think that was intentional. She was clearly having fun. I felt the action sequences in these two put together are actually better than those in some of the John Wick movies. These were both done on lower budgets similar to the first Wick movie, and I think that helps them.

Fun movie. Nothing deep, just kind of a “let’s get the gang back together and have a good time.” Just as entertaining as the first one.

Caught it this morning, lots of fun. Bring on a third where Hutch takes out the head Russian that he still owes money too.

Hutch doesn’t owe the Russians. The government picked up the tab and he’s paying them back through contract work
Really enjoyed the fight scenes and Stone. Nielsen was pretty bad. Everything else was fine but forgettable Always good to see Christopher Lloyd.

This is the kind of movie where I wonder if it would have gotten more buzz had it just been released directly on Netflix and skipped the theaters.

We did a divide and conquer night at the movies.
My wife and our oldest went to the 2-hour Weapons at 6:15pm.
Our youngest and I went to the 90-minute Nobody 2 at 6:45pm.
We walked in at 6:30pm because of trailers, killed a little time before our later movie, then we all met in the lobby at essentially the same time. Cool timing!
I'd already seen Weapons twice, including once with our oldest, and she was excited to see it again. Meanwhile, I watched the first Nobody with our youngest this week and she wanted to see the second one.
We both like the sequel better. A lot of heart, liked the family dynamic, the concern about generational trauma, and the gags. Fun setting, some good surprises, and liked the team-up and who all stepped up to the plate (and to what extent, including the line of mercy).
Can't believe I'm saying this, but our Dolby theater is consistently TOO LOUD, and tonight was no exception.
Projector broke, too. Right as the climax started. Colin Hanks walks up to our hero and it cut to black for 10 seconds, then came back on with a double picture for 5 minutes. I went out to tell them right away and it was frustrating how long it took to fix but whatever, I'm not going to demand my money back for that. Maybe I could've but eh, it's fine.
