Great movie, terrible name: Brides of Dracula.

No brides, no Dracula.

I'd go with the full original title of Birds of Prey. I don't even remember exactly what it was other than it was really long.

I think that's because the original post and title are so difficult to understand.

He believes in quantity over quality

I hate crappy generic names so I nominate Edge of Tomorrow. They should have gone with Live Die Repeat.

A lot of people have attributed the box office failure of The Shawshank Redemption to its name. And I agree. But it's not the word "Shawshank" that sunk it, it's "Redemption". I don't think a lot of people know what it means.

My first thought when I was trying to think of a terrible title was the super generic The Promise. If I told you that it was a movie starring Christian Bale and Oscar Isaac about the tragedies of war and NOT a low budget Faith-based movie on sale in a mega church’s gift shop, would you believe me?

Toss up between Last Jedi and Ghostbusters: Answer The Call if we are going with higher profile movies from the last decade.

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole was always clunky af to me.

Re: Worst movie (higher profile) names?

I'd also go with Scream and Halloween. The Halloween one bothers me slightly less; I guess because it has been so much longer since the original and is trying to start things over. It still bugs me that they gave it the exact name as the original, though. This new Scream looks to be a total continuation, so I don't understand why they wouldn't have added a 5 or added something else to it.
