Re: The Munsters (2022, D: Rob Zombie)
Given that this was made by Universal's direct to video division, this shouldn't surprise anyone. This movie will serve its purpose of being something to pacify/entertain the children leading up to Halloween and then be quickly forgotten until the same time next year .

Assuming Netflix got this for a song after being passed over by Peacock.

Re: The Munsters (2022, D: Rob Zombie)
Well The Netflix news sucks. I was planning to go see it in theaters. That also means it will likely never get a physical media release.

‘The Munsters’ Trailer – Lily and Herman Fall in Love on Blu-ray, DVD, and VOD This Coming September 27th
 Along with the news comes a brand new trailer touting a jam-packed physical release with over 60 minutes of extra features. “The movie is layered and weird, but it’s bizarrely innocent. I feel like it’s the perfect Halloween movie,” Zombie tells USA Today, likening the film to “a live-action cartoon.” |
Re: The Munsters (2022, D: Rob Zombie)
I never really watched the tv show, so that isn't coloring my opinion of the new movie. The trailer does not make this movie look good in any way. My original thought was that it was supposed to be B&W, because it at least looks pretty decent like that, but the interview above proves that theory wrong. The only Zombie movie I've ever liked, prior to giving up on his output, was House of 1000 Corpses, back when it was released. I'm guessing I wouldn't like it today.

Cool, have Netflix so that's how I'll watch.

Re: The Munsters (2022, D: Rob Zombie)
Zombie should take a break from Twitter for awhile, this isn't going to end well for him.

Re: The Munsters (2022, D: Rob Zombie)
Is Sheri trying her best Elvira impersonation mixed with Edie McClurg to be Lily... and that the original Elvira is in this, too? :brickwl2:

Re: The Munsters (2022, D: Rob Zombie)
That sounds like a third song in the end credits kind of thing when the audience is already out of the theater (or watching Netflix’s next recommendation).

Re: The Munsters (2022, D: Rob Zombie)
So how many of you basing this will watch?
Be honest... |

Re: The Munsters (2022, D: Rob Zombie)
I'm not bashing it and will watch. If nothing else it is interesting. Could hit the right notes and be really good.

Re: The Munsters (2022, D: Rob Zombie)
Watching with very low expectations, as with any of the new Zombie movies.
