Seems like he was trying to deal with it by association...

I know Black Panther is the one that he's been talked about the most for, and he was brilliant in it, but he also was great in several other movies. I loved him in 42, where he first caught my attention, and in Get On Up he did a pretty amazing job channeling James Brown, about as far as you could get from T'Challa. Last night in his memory I watched "Marshall," which I hadn't seen, where he plays the man who became the first U.S. Black Supreme Court Justice. It's a kind of courtroom drama and while the movie itself is decent, once again Chadwick Boseman elevates everything up a few notches with his confident portrayal. I really wish he'd gotten the career he deserved to have. From his first starring role in "42" to 2020, his starring career only spanned 6-7 years.

Black Panther was ok but I liked 42 and Get On Up better.
i checked IMDB and he did as lot of TV work too in shows like Fringe, Justified, Castle, The Gladea. Persons Unknown, ER, Cold Case, Law and Order, and others.
I think Message from the King not one of his bigger movies is on Netflix and add it to my que.
It is amazing how he kept his cancer hidden in the era of TMZ.
Maybe he asked people close to him not to reveal it and they respected his wishes or somebody payed them off to keep that hidden from the world.
This might be similar to FDR where most people did not know he was handicapped but the media was different back then and today nobody keeps secrets.

Maybe not today exactly, but they have and are thinking about this, and have contingency plans for a wide variety of tragic situations. Just like how news agencies have detailed biographies ready to go when people of note (including Boseman) pass on. I'm sure they'll announce their intentions after the proper respectful period of time has passed.

They would have known because he would have needed to be insured for each film he did. Main cast are required to have a cast exam. I can't imagine the premiums levied so he could be in these films, or they paid for a hefty completion bond. It's the same with Alex Trebek or the then coked up Lindsay Lohan. I assume there are some hefty premiums on Tom Cruise, also.

Yeah this one was crazy. Not going to pretend to be a fan or that I’m mourning a great personal loss, but this one really came by surprise. This stuff typically doesn’t stay under wraps for so long.
I’m sure it’s already been mentioned but he was in some piece of social media within the past six months, and he looked real bad. And the number of people who made just dog shit comments about his appearance, and speculated about drug use and all kinds of shit...they must be feeling very proud of themselves now.

Ryan Coogler, director of Black Panther, released a statement on Boseman's passing. It's a very long statement. I won't post it here. You can click the link if you want to read it or not.

All due respect, don't kid yourself. That's the FIRST thing the suits at Marvel and Disney thought about. Because money, and loads of it.
Those who worked directly with him and had a relationship with him are mourning. The number crunchers are already talking about how to proceed with Black Panther 2. No doubt about it.

This tribute on ABC is absolutely amazing and so heartfelt. He did much more and touched so many people of all colors and genders then I ever knew. To put this together with all the people, including Kamala Harris, is just wonderful. I hope everyone is watching. It’s important, as was Chadwick Boseman’s impact and hopefully his legacy continues on and on.

That was a nice airing. Commercial free with very small snips here and there and to the end credits while keeping all the post credit scenes. Original run time was 2:15.. they kept this to around 2:10.

The ABC News special on Boseman last night was really well done. Great job by them putting that together on such short notice.

shocked like most of his death, especially of stage 4 cancer, and amazed he was dealing with it throughout all of his Marvel appearances.
I'm reminded of Andy Whitfield, the original charismatic actor who played in the show Spartacus, just in amazing shape yet cut down by cancer in his prime.

I watched this last night on Netflix.
He was kicking ass like John Wick.
If you are a fan check it out. Surprised nobody has ever heard of this.
Sucks he is gone and he probably had a Oscar winning role in him that we will never get to see.

The fact that Boseman managed to work on 9 movies including Black Panther, 2 Avengers movies, 21 Bridges and Da 5 Blood while diagnosed with a terminal illness is simply astounding. He may have looked strong, fit and healthy, but who knows how much exhaustion, pain and suffering he was going through including the chemo, meds and surgery. The dude was a warrior.
I'm sure he would want to be remembered as an absolute badass. How anyone could do all that while battling cancer is absolutely unbelievable.
