Remember in Avengers: Endgame, when they time traveled through the quantum realm to get the infinity stones? When they were finished with them, they had to return the stuff they "borrowed" from the past or else they would branch off into a new timeline?

Maybe all of these guys like Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus were removed from their own universes (actually the old Sony films) and transplanted into ours. They would just simply vanish from those timelines and create a "branch" universe at that point where they ceased to exist. So Green Goblin comes from a point before he died, and Octopus comes from before he redeemed himself.

That more or less tracks with what we know about the Multiverse from Endgame and Loki.

As long as Spider-Ham is played by John Mulaney, I’m there!

Re: Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021, D: Watts) - S: Tom Holland

This movie is apparently anticipated to do very well opening weekend despite the pandemic. One factor that I think will lead to great numbers domestically is that this is the first movie to get a release after the window for young adults and kids who got a vaccinations are now considered safely protected. Other movies have done well opening weekend this year, but this is the true "we're back" movie of the year. I also think it's kind of cool that they're opening on the same weekend as 1978's Superman back in the day.

Trailer got a good reaction in the theater where we watched Ghostbusters yesterday. My only issue, with our current Spidey is that he's Iron Man lite. Wish he'd go back to the normal suit.

He has a 'normal' suit on the train sequence with Strange.

Seeing running time rumours placing this at around 2 hours 30 min, which is a few min less then Eternals. I figured it would run longer then the other two Holland Spider-Man flicks seeing that there appears to be a lot to pack in here.

Currently in the comics Parker has become very much like Tony Stark. I really don't get the hang up over MCU Peter using a tech suit vs a cloth suit. He defeated both the Vulture and Mysterio without tech.

New poster. Looks like the other Goblin was still Dafoe in a different costume. At least that is what they are showing us…

Yeah, figured it was still Defoe. The way I see it, the villains from the other Spider-verses come through with that places suit and somehow, in Holland-verse, they get tech-upgrades like Ocks arms, Electro's new costume and Goblin's new look (though that design kind of makes him a cross between a cyborg and Stryder from Lord of the Rings )

I started watching the other Spidey movies this week having finished Spiderman 1 last night. I never had an issue with that Goblin outfit and always loved that flick and the squeal. I am dreading the emo-dance number from 3, though

I never had an issue with the costume either, but the test they did with a more comic-accurate mask is interesting

Re: Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021, D: Watts) - S: Tom Holland

I wonder if the Goblin showing Dafoe's face will be a version of Hobgoblin, thus technically giving us the "sixth" member of the group?

The more one looks at it, the more this is shaping up to be the ultimate Spider-Man experience from a movie standpoint. You have all of the great villains returning to form the infamous Sinister Six. J.K. Simmons returning as Jameson, the best actor to ever play the role. Also, while the last two took place in the MCU, this is the first Spider-Man to take all that we liked about the non MCU entries and incorporate them. If they find a way to incorporate
Spoiler:
Venom
into the story, then it's truly an accomplishment.
