I guess reading up on it some more they could have involvement in the DCEU. From what I read first it sounded like it was basically an entirely separate thing from anything in the comics and just something DC acquired the rights to. Like I mentioned I personally haven’t heard about them or if I have I’ve forgotten about them. It doesn’t seem like they’ve been really prevalent for a while (sounds like the title wasn’t published since the 90s or so before being briefly revived in the New 52). I’m not against Spielberg doing a DC film as I’m a fan and think he could bring something interesting to the table.

Another thing to consider is this will probably be an Amblin/DreamWorks film not involving Warner Brothers.

Nope.

Missed that part. So it will be an Amblin/WB co-production.

Re: Blackhawk (D: Spielberg)

Blackhawk was a comic the started under Quality Comics back in 1941. DC got the rights to it in 1956 and kept it going as it was very popular. I was a big fan of the comic...my favorite issues as a kid was when the comic switched to a superhero style format with each of the members wearing a special suit with powers.

I am very interested in seeing what Spielberg does with this although I am sure he will concentrate on the pre-superhero Blackhawk.

My film holy grail however, as someone mentioned before, is Metal Men.

My "favorite" costume of that weird little moment of Comics history is "The Listener" (far left), -the costume with ears drawn all over it.
