Not surprised that Universal is putting out a TV series based on Upgrade.
They did the same with The Purge series, which are part of their studio as well.
Re-watched this the other day. Felt the same as I did about it when I initially saw it in theaters.
Really fun film though I still didn't care much for the ending as well as the tired archetype for the Detective we usually see in many modern revenge films.

Re: Upgrade (2018, W/D: Whannell) S: Logan Marshall-Green
holy fucking shit i had no idea what i was in for. it was fun, funny, it was a mystery, it was everything all rolled into one. i'm just in awe. i mean i knew right from the incident in beginning who was behind it (kinda), but i didn't know who dunnit (really), if people who saw know what i mean. i won't spoil here. but this movie was just amazing and so easily rewatchable. Logan Marshall-Green, who i never really knew before was just incredible, acted every way he was supposed to given the circumstances of the movie. i know there is a bigger story and maybe that series they are developing will explore, but for an isolated movie, that ending, i was just in awe. gasping. tense throughout, just an amazing film by Leigh Whannell. and watching the extras on the UK disc, who knew he was Australian. all i saw him in was the original Saw. incredible. just incredible. if you like your atypical superhero movies, this is it. even if you don't, see this fucking movie. it is just so damn good. and love the call out to James Wan who wrote Saw with him. just see this movie. plain and simple.
