Looks good, but I think that trailer gave away too much.
Basically, he's Blue Beetle except no suit and it's a chip instead of a scarab. |

Just got back from this -- holy fucking shit. The violence and brutality was off the hook!
I was all like: https://cdn.pastemagazine.com/www/ar...018%20main.jpg Leigh Wannell has another winner on his hands. I do believe this got a semi-wide release. My crowd was great and most reacted to the violence appropriately. There's also a lot of heart and some of the material does navigate through some dark territory. I read that this will probably get an UNRATED release on Blu-ray, so can't wait! |

This is the Venom movie we need...but don't deserve.
Anyway, just got back from seeing it. It really is a friggin' terrific old-school SF action thriller that would make Cameron, Carpenter, and Verhoeven proud. |

This was great and everyone should see it this weekend. It's a shame it's not going to do well. Movies with 20 times its budget wish they could pull off sci-fi this well. If you're a fan of Carpenter and Cronenberg, you should check this out.
I literally yelled "oh shit" with that one graphic kill. Great soundtrack. Great shots during the action. |

My local Drafthouse has been hyping it for weeks. Maybe I'll see it during the week, but even the redband trailer didn't impress me.

This movie is great. I had a few minor issues with it but the fight scenes are worth the ticket alone.
And it isn't just all violence constantly. It actually takes its time to get to those scenes but when it does...woah! Very enjoyable. My only issue was mainly that Spoiler:
My rating: **** out of ***** Took my 14 year old to it and he loved it. |
