I'm not going to quote the post because it's several years old, but the use of incongruent timelines in Dunkirk was not a gimmick. It served the storyline by placing the viewer in the skewed sense of time the soldiers experience as they fight for survival.

I don't think Dunkirk is Nolan's best, but it's still a fantastic movie.

I was on a Nolan kick awhile back and revisited this movie, along with most of his others. It’s still a really good movie and, IMO, plays better on repeat viewings.

I don't really pay attention to the polls. My experience is that most people here rate things either in the 3.5-4.5 range or give it a 1. I was going mostly by the comments which are generally lukewarm at best. I think this is Nolan's best movie. Or at the very least #2 behind Memento.
