I don't necessarily agree with this logic, but dialogue from the movies (and the number of sheep who went this route) indicate a Sith is NOT a Jedi. Personally, I feel Jedi are Jedi whether they are good or bad and the Sith are a faction. Based on Episode I (f----ing prequels) and sentiments more common than I believed, Jedi = good and Sith = bad. Given that interpretation, the above answers are not wrong.

I would argue that Darth Vader is also Anakin Skywalker who was a jedi.

I think it was more like an evolution/retcon of Lucas's original intent. Then again, he was never known for being consistent.

I considered this. But I figured if I am going to give in to the Dark Side, I may as well give in. I agree with story's point of view.

But we found out in Return of the Jedi that wasn't true. He was always still Anakin.
