As much as I want to go see the original tonight, I will not support Sony over the summer for this reboot. I will wait until the fall when the Alamo Drafthouse usually shows it in 35mm. I am not attacking anyone or saying anything wrong with this post.

I've got no problem watching my copy of the original. I also don't really have a problem going to see the original in the theater.

Agreed. None of those trailers or vignettes make this look even remotely like a decent movie.

They aren't playing it in my town. We did get Ghostbusters screenings 2 years ago for the 30th anniversary and I took my nephew.

Was it done by Fathom Events also? Did you find it was worth the money? I've never been to a Fathom showing (almost went to Halloween a couple of years ago), but I've heard it's pretty fun to see the older movies on the big screen.

I haven't seen anything remotely good with any of these trailers. It's a pale, half-assed imitation of the original at best, an insult to long time fans at worst.

And, really, I'm about as excited about a Ghostbusters remake (male or female) as I would be about a Back to the Future remake. Maybe slightly more open to a GB reboot than BTTF, but not a lot.

The sneak peek was nothing special. Just a 5 minute behind the scenes deal. Some stuff we obviously didn't see in the trailers, but mostly just the cast and Feig talking about it. It was AFTER the credits, by the way, not before the original film.

Still, I think it looks decent enough for me to go opening weekend.
