Yeah it does feel more like the Batmobile. But I ended up liking the Tumbler more because it seemed like something Batman would use in modern times, as opposed to something that seems to place style over function.

I still can't get over Bale's bat-voice. I mean why even do it when talking to Lucius? He knows who you are dude.

Cool little interview with Dean Cain (played Superman in Lois and Clark)

Admitted he fell asleep for part of it and said it was too long. He does like a lot of it.

I see that you spent part of your Easter Sunday in the theater, checking out Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice at the Cinepolis Luxury Cinemas in Westlake Village. What did you think?

Yes, my son and I went to see it. My son hated it because Superman died. It made me very happy that he took it so personally and that he has such a strong connection to the character (laughs). The movie obviously was so well made; the effects were incredible. It was too long, though, and I admit, I dozed off a tiny bit, but maybe that's because I was tired after a lot of traveling. Ben was great as Batman and Henry is a very good Superman. This incarnation is so dark compared to the lightness of the Superman I've grown to know and love, as seen in the two versions that I grew up with — Christopher Reeve and myself. That's the only difference to me. [This movie] inhabits a dark world and Superman is such an alien in that world. Wonder Woman is really easy on the eyes, and I love that they introduced the other guys, the Justice League, because those stories are very cool. I loved how they did that. But I don't see how you have a Justice League without Superman.

Heavy title but a good read:

‘Batman v Superman’ is too smart for Marvel fans

And some things to nitpick (I enjoyed the film, but agree with some of these)

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice: 19 things that don't make sense in this nonsensical movie

They're both un batman like. They both don't feature anything that one could just attach the thought of that immediately being owned by Batman. I've seen a lot of the designs of his car and sooooo many of them have a bat theme in the visual. The Tumbler and the the BvS car don't have any of that. Alone... they don't match up to anything generally attributed to being immediately recognized to being a Batmobile.

Barely. It's just sleeker.

The new Batmobile couldn't do shit w/o the help of the edit. look at the footage of it as they're filming. The damn thing couldn't move like the Tumbler. The Tumbler needed no help of the editor to help sell what moves it could do. They had several but the basic Tumbler could go really fucking fast for a car of that size and turn like a motherfucker. This new one? Couldn't do any of that looking as good in action in a total shot. It may look better just being there but it wasn't physically a better car. And really doesn't scream Batman immediately without knowing what it's for before anyway.

I like the Tumbler more just cuz it could more. Not Even talking about the bat-pod. Just as a car... it could do more than this new one.

you have to stay in character in case someone else is around to pick up on it. That's also why Supes says 'Martha' instead of 'mom'.

Doesn't really make sense though. Martha who? How would bats know who this Martha was? He should have said, "Martha Kent" or just "My mother"

Again.. that whole attempt at connecting them to something was stupid.

i mean that's why he said it initially, out of reflex from being in character. it's the superhero's nature to keep his secret identity, like how BatBale spoke in batvoice while talking to lucius. Lois finally then had to step in and clear it up when they realized the world's greatest detective didn't know who Martha was.

Maybe it's like Stallone in 'Over the Top' when he turns his hat around...

"...it's like a switch that goes on. And when the switch goes on, I feel like another person, I feel, I don't know, I feel like a... like a truck. Like a machine."

Yeah, again. The name Martha alone doesn't mean anything to Batman except his own mother's name, and Supes didn't know that. If Lois has to come in and explain it, it isn't good communication. He said it because the writers wanted Batman to have a flashback, end of story.

He probably shouldn't have called Batman "Bruce." Superman is bad at this.

Again.. Martha who? You don't just namedrop a bitch's first name to some other guy unless that person has some literal connected context to click with it.

That whole aspect is just stupid. It's just there for Bats to feel some connection. It's stupid.

If anything he could have just said, "save her" or something. Something to stop Bats immediately to get the point across. But we got "Martha" to just connect Supes and Bats by mums. Again.. Snyder has no sense of depth and lacks the nature to understand the power of subtlety.

The basis of the whole fight was stupid so why not the conclusion of it too? Just about everything wrong in the movie was due to lazy writing and poor storytelling.

I'd account for everything wrong w/ it to be by the writing and direction.

The crew, the cast, and etc? All seem to be good at their job. Except for the director and writer. Snyder isn't a visionary for storytelling and Goyer isn't great at writing. I don't know what Terrio really did to it. I'd like to see someone talk to him about it to learn what he could have changed to it. He came on to rewrite it a bit cuz Goyer was on other things.

People can bitch about Eisenberg but he's a good actor. The way they wanted him to play it was a poor decision. Literally everything Lex did in a general action or sense? Could have been played much better by a different type of Lex w/ characteristics that were not that which we got.

I got that as intentional... he was trying to speak to the man, not to the Batman. Appealing to his humanity.

I'd pretty strongly disagree with this, but strongly agree that the storytelling behind the fight was lousy. I firmly believe that Darkseid was behind both Batman and Luthor having their visions (which were implied with Luthor, his whole "The bell has been rung" shpiel at the end) and the change in character (Batman is obsessed, but not usually so blindly and violently, and Luthor is a sociopath, but not usually so psychopathic). Darkseid wanted Superman eliminated. So yeah, if it was just a matter of Batman picking a fight with Superman, it made no sense. If it was just a matter of Luthor deciding to create mischief, it made no sense. But if it was orchestrated by Darkseid, it made a lot of sense. It just should've been made clearer if that is the case. Looks like at least one of the deleted scenes supports this scenario.

The more I read here and think about it, I'm starting to agree with those who say it was too ambitious. I think the fundamental story, as I fill in the holes in my mind, was good. It probably would've been a 210 minute movie, or, 2 movies. Keeping it as one movie forced cuts to get the time down, which left gaping holes in the story. As much as I like the movie (4/5), I can't blame those who find fault with it.

I'm in Japan and I was at a theater today which was showing BvS and had life-size mockups of Batman & Superman, which I took pics of but don't know how to post from my smartphone. I went there to see the new Kamen Rider movie which was friggin' great, and probably a zillion times better than BvS, but there was no mockup of Kamen Rider in the lobby, which pissed me off. Sadly, this Kamen Rider movie will never be released in the U.S. Japanese pop culture is the bomb, but U.S. pop culture is so unfair.
