I wouldn't have had a problem with him addressing the issue, but it's all he fucking talked about for the entire 10 minutes of him monlogue. Then Rock introduces Emily Blunt and Charlize Theron, one whiter than the next. 15 minutes later, we get a clip with black people added in. Then that Stacy Dash moment. And we're only 40 minutes into the show. Enough already!

I don't ever watch the Oscars, but I'm a big Rock fan so I watched the monologue. I think whatever way he took it he was going to offend someone, but I thought it was really funny and kinda took jabs at both sides.
The real problem with the Oscars every year is the bloated 3+ hour show that no one cares about til the last 1/2 hour when they present the major awards.

This is so far the worst Oscar show I've ever seen.
Rock was not at all funny. I guess that was the point, but why should the comic MC be deliberately unfunny? Just to hit liberal Hollywood over the head and make them feel good while doing it? Why should the rest of us have to be party to it?

They always show clips of the early nominees and then always stop half way through when they realize, oops, they're running long. Always.

No issue w the opening other than the crack at the cops. Let's hope we don't get little sketches like we saw after that though, that was awful.

Only my second year following the Oscars, and I hear nothing but complaints towards the show once again -- I'm not sure what's so terrible about everything, but what do I know.
