Armageddon...every character was yelling, sound effects were in full blast, music was in full throttle, whatever was on screen was in motion and the editing was relentless. Theatre I went to figured it would be an experience to see the movie in ear-splitting volume that the constant loudness made me fal asleep.

At my screening of Revenge of the Sith, whenever Obi-Wan's creature (Boga) would make its sound... it was completely ear-shattering.

Without question, The Corruptor. So loud that it felt like we had been in a fight after. It has been a long running joke with the friends I saw it with. We were all exhausted and felt like we had been drugged after.

Top Gun when it had its Imax release, the remaster was garbage, but the sound mix was deafening. Also I got to see Terminator 2 last year at the Alamo Drafthouse in town, good lord that was incredible, the opening scene shook the seats.

a great loud movie I saw/heard was Battle: Los Angeles - the movie was a mess, but the soundmix was a behemoth - the octaves of bass on the AMC 'ETX' screen were so low, they rattled the floors, and the seat to spectacular effect.

just saw a matinee screening of Spectre and outside of maybe Goldeneye - this Bond movie was the loudest, so loud in fact the front heavy mixing drowned what ever sound effects were moved into the surround channels (in the 7.1 configurement). (the older aged couples in front of me and just to my left promptly moved further back of the auditorium). The bass was amazing, in two explosions, at the beginning and at the end, it caused the floors and seats to rumble

Not sure if it was the loudest, but it's One, I'll always remember. Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, when Laura and Donna were in the bar, the music could be heard, all the way in the bathroom.

The crash at the beginning of Pitch Black was also ridiculously loud in whatever theater I was in.

oh the 8-channel SDDS remix of Das Boot was an ear bleeder - not 'annoyingly' loud - just loud for maximum effect. The depth chargers felt like the walls were going to crack and the scene where the sub is compressing as it dives to lower sea depth - how the audio mixers achieved compression was scary.

on the other hand, A Good Day to Die Hard (on the same screen) the volume and the Atmos mix was like being beaten in the head with a crowbar - I was so glad when it ended.
