When will this get protested for excessive use of the word retard? It would seem the writer/director is obsessed with the word, as it's also used In Bruges.

Looks like this is in my area starting this week. I hope to get to see it tonight if I can.

Wow. This definitely doesn't play out the way you think it would.

James Berardinelli just tweeted that it is possibly the best film of 2017 so far, gave it a four star review:

Saw it tonight, liked it quite a bit except for the ending (which I didn't hate)
The acting and dialogue were on point though. Expect a nominee or two in the acting categories and maybe screenplay. It was cool seeing a bunch of familiar faces outside of the main cast of McDormand, Harrelson and Rockwell. Peter Dinklage, the kid from Manchester by the Sea, John Hawkes is always good, and even recognized Charlie's mom from It's Always Sunny as Rockwell's mom. Basically playing the same character ha.
Anyway good film, recommended.

Saw this a few nights ago. A little uneven but McDormand & Rockwell's performances were fantastic. Absolutely loved the dialogue throughout the entire film.

I really liked the movie. Great performances. It's always nice to be surprised by events during a movie. As to the movie ending..

I saw this yesterday and loved it. Frances McDormand is fucking phenomenal in the lead. Her character is no saint, but you really root for her. Just give her the Best Actress Oscar now. Sam Rockwell and Woody Harrelson are also amazing and it would great to see them get some attention too. Rockwell's character in particular is extraordinarily complex. The whole cast is great. And as a bonus, my favourite new actress Samara Weaving (The Babysitter, Mayhem) is in this too and is a hoot in a tiny role.
It must have been exceptionally difficult to get the tone of this movie right, as it veers from deep, intense drama to black comedy, often in the same scene. Martin McDonagh (In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths) nails it though, with the able assistance of his cast.
TomOpus, I agree with you on the ending.

I've really wanted to see this one but it hasn't been in a theater near me. I pulled up my MoviePass app and it shows it playing at an AMC 25 miles away. On a whim, I looked at my AMC app and it wasn't showing. So I called the theater and was told it's not playing there and I'm not the first person to ask about it. Disappointed, since I was excited to check it out. At least I didn't waste a trip.

Back from it. Good, but (For me) 7 Psychopaths has yet to be topped. Yet it is still very much worth looking at to see McDonagh in No Country for Old Men mode.
The head-scratching moment for me:

Finally got to see this and it lived up to the hype and the awesome red band trailer.
I absolutely loved it and want to see it again soon.
The 3 main actors were all very good. The dialogue was outstanding, and boy oh boy Sam Rockwell's character arch was awesome.
Can't say enough good things about this. Easily my favorite film this year.

After seeing The Disaster Artist today, I want to see this one again. Not only for the enjoyment but there's one thing I want to clarify.

LOVED IT
Easily the best movie I have seen this year. McDormand should bag the Oscar for this. Really liked the ending and there is a spoiler above that spells it out perfectly.
