Just ran across this and I don't have the patience to dig up the original MOS thread.
I found this fan edit to be pathetically accurate and funny/sad.
Man, but I've grown to really hate Synder.

Might be nothing but worth posting:
Is Warner Bros. Eyeing J.A Bayona For Man Of Steel 2?

Is Warner Bros. Eyeing J.A Bayona For Man Of Steel 2?
J.A Bayona is a hot commodity these days, and he just might be making his way to the DCEU.
That's if previous patterns are any indication. In the past, actors who have followed notable DC and Warner Bros. names like Geoff Johns and Zack Snyder on Twitter have eventually found their way into DCEU projects. Some suspect that may be the case again with Bayona, as he recently followed Geoff Johns on Twitter (via Cosmic Book News).
Alone it might not be anything, but Bayona has previously stated that the character is close to his heart and that Superman (with Christopher Reeve) is "the film that made me want to become a director".

I would have never heard of him before looking him up. I've heard of A Monster Calls but I don't think I'm familiar with his other work.

Never seen A Monster Calls either and I have hope for Jurassic World 2, but only can go up from the previous one (really didn't care for it).

Good story but not for the DCEU. I'm a fan of Elseworlds tales like it but they don't belong in the films. Now if it were a one off animated feature that would be different.

If DC really wants a cohesive movie universe like Marvel, why would they waste time on a stand-alone alternate reality story? Dumb.

Depends on how they adapt it. You're thinking of a straight re-creation but they could take elements of it. Also, some wouldn't mind a stand alone film. DC got in trouble forcing a shared universe.

I don't see how you'd only incorporate elements into another story in the case of Red Son though. It's a story that can really only work as a stand alone. Unless they tried something with Bizarro but that would really change the character a lot. As far as attempting it as a stand alone film that would be foolish. They need to keep their focus at this one rather than branching off into something completely different.

Maybe it's giving him a Kremlin based doppelganger that he can kill in the climax.
It's possible WB is thinking ahead of the curve and figures two years from now, audiences will take a great delight again in seeing Russian villains violently killed.

Matthew Vaughn Confirms 'Man of Steel' Sequel Talks
Man of Steel is getting a sequel at some point in the future, and it looks like DC and Warner Bros. have their sights set on an already-successful comic movie director to give Superman some new life.
After rumors that the studio was interested in Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn, the filmmaker has confirmed that the conversations are indeed taking place.
"I am planning another Kingsman, I've written the treatment and some of the scenes," Vaughn said of his upcoming slate. "I don't know what I'm going to do next but I have had chats about Superman, I love Superman."

Like I said earlier when he was mentioned I'm a fan of Vaughn so he'd be an interesting choice. I personally wouldn't think of him for Superman as a top choice but I'd be willing to give him a chance. I feel like he'd be able to work better with a character he can give a bit of a humorous edge to which Superman doesn't fit the bill for.

I'm good if they hire Vaughn to write and direct this. He did a good job with the 1st Kingsman movie and his X-Men movie.
This movie probably won't come out for another 3-4 years anyways, so we've got a long way to go before this hits your local cinema.

“Weirdly if I did do Superman—and I made the mistake of telling someone yesterday I have spoken about it and then wallop (laughs)—I think my main take would be, it’s really boring but make a Superman film. I just don’t feel a proper Superman—I think Donner did it to perfection for that time. Just doing the modern—I wanna do a modern version of the Donner [version]. Go back to the source material… For me Superman is color, feel-good, heroic. He’s a beacon of light in darkness. And that’s what I think Superman should be.”
