I voted that I thought it sucked... I was really hoping for a non-stop LOL movie, at least that's what the trailer was kinda hinting at. I was greatly disappointed. The crowd we saw it with was very subdued. There was way more reaction form the audience when we saw "Inside Out."

Finally caught this in the morning for a cheap showing... and all the reviews were basically spot on. It was cute and a waste of 90 minutes, but nothing particularly amazing. A lot of the stuff with Scarlet felt way off, like they didn't quite know what to do with her and the Minions. I enjoyed the evolution of them and some of their individual antics better then any of the actual villain stuff, which mostly fell flat and was never as funny as it should have been. Especially the stuff with her husband.

Bob was pretty adorable though, especially with his stuffed bear and rat.

Haters gonna hate, as they say. Yeah, this was a glorified toy commercial. Yeah, it's probably the most insubstantial fluff of a film ever. 90 minutes is too long, they work better in small doses, it's like a bunch of sketches strung together as a vague plot, it's pretty much strictly for kids and there isn't a ton for adults to chew on, and it hardly has heart and wit. But hey, you know what? I smiled all the way through it, and actually laughed pretty hard several times. Bob is way, way, way too cute. It's not Pixar by any stretch of the imagination, but I had a good time. And really, with my life where it is, I'm glad for some smiles. This was perfectly fun. Not much more, but hey, making a movie just for kids? Since when is that such a horrible crime?

I'm pretty sure "haters" aren't the type to watch this movie. I imagine like me, the few folks posting here were fans of the Despicable Me movies.

I enjoyed it, and don't mind if my kid wants to watch it for the 50th time. I prefer the Madagascar Penguins.
