Marvel/Disney won't work out any deals. Its just not profitable enough to do so. If they made a deal to use the X-Men and/or Spider-Man, then they would have to share the revenue from the movie with Fox and/or Sony. The X-Men and Spidey wouldn't bring in THAT much extra revenue to make it worthwhile for Marvel/Disney to make the deal. They would actually have less revenue and therefore less profit unless the costs of the movie production was also shared.

Or they could just go the route they did with Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch. Where they go ahead and use Ms. Marvel in your X-men flick and cast whomever you want.

I would mention something in the thread title that this is Disney's Captain Marvel project. Most comic book fans will assume you are talking about this guy from DC Comics and coming out with his own movie:
It gets even more confusing since Marvel's version of the character was male for decades and will be the female version in movies. This is Disney's attempt to fashion a believable female counterpart to Wonder Woman in the Marvel universe.

Even many comic readers thought that guy's name is Shazam, which is one reason why his name was officially changed to Shazam in the New 52. The other reason being that having two Captain Marvel movies would just be confusing.

Yeah. But... Carol Danvers has been way more popular with the role. And less convoluted of a history. And adding a female powerhouse like CM is a big deal. Especially in the industry.

Yeah, it's been a very very very long time since I thought of Captain Marvel as the big red fella and not of people like Rick Jones and the cosmic marvel area.
