I never believed that WB was committed to using Cyborg and I certainly never believed that a Cyborg solo movie would ever come out, despite them announcing it. So this doesn't really surprise me. It wouldn't shock me to never see another live action Cyborg. Totally replaceable with another character.

Yeah. Cyborg isn’t important in the slightest. Always thought it was kind of odd to put him with the Justice League right away. I get it for the sake of diversity, but you could have chosen someone like Green Lantern (John Stewart) or even Martian Manhunter.

We discussed it before, but you can't call it representation if your sole person of color is actually a green Martian. Also, this was based on the Geoff Johns New 52 JL and there's no way Johns was going to go with anyone but Hal Jordan at GL.

It does make me think if they actually resurrect this JL that they'll put Stewart in, though (personally I would love a Jason Rusch Firestorm).

I suppose I can see that point about Martian Manhunter. I would imagine he would get as much time as John Jones though. Also yeah I know that the Justice League at the time included Cyborg, but even so. He’s always come across as a character that was forced into a higher position that wasn’t really worthy.

They could also use Jurnee Smollett's Black Canary from Birds of Prey or introduce Vixen or Rocket. It doesn't have to be Wonder Woman joins the sausage party.

Assuming that you mean Milestone's Rocket I wouldn't have minded introducing Icon either.

But if we're talking about being someone who people would recognize, with the popularity of the Teen Titans and then the Go cartoons, Cyborg at least was known by people who grew up with those (or Super Friends, or who read NTT).

There was nothing wrong with choosing Cyborg, I was surprised that they chose an completely unknown actor and Fisher/Cyborg hadn't much to do in (Whedon's) Justice League, so he still has no profile. Aquaman and Flash had more memorable scenes in a forgettable movie. In my opinion they could just recast Cyborg, since Ray Fisher didn't/could't make any impact. Which wasn't due to a lack of talent. In True Detective he stood his ground alongside Mahershala Ali.

Fischer denies quitting: https://www.darkhorizons.com/ray-fis...g-resignation/

Hard to see how this guy is going to get much work in the future, even if he is right about the whole situation.

He said he wouldn’t work for Hamada. Hamada is in charge of the DC films division. So unless he somehow is fired or removed from his position Fisher essentially did quit, even if he did so unofficially.

The guy seems to crave attention. It’s almost like he’s so far down this rabbit hole and realizes he really has nothing so is grasping at anything to try and salvage what little there is left of his career.

And still no actual details about this alleged misconduct have emerged? Do we know anything about what supposedly happened on set? Why do I have the feeling many people will shrug when details finally emerge about what actually happened? At this point, it feels like it has been built up so much that unless it's Bryan Singer-level impropriety or shades of Mel Gibson, it won't be worth all the hype.

It's hard to imagine that there isn't some racial component to it. Maybe he knew his character was being pushed aside and Whedon treated him like shit because of it. Who knows? At this point, it's hard to care about him without any facts out there.

He won’t even say anything is the problem. There’s no facts because we don’t even know what happened or what he truly wants. Even when he seemingly gets his way it’s not good enough for him.

He has an NDA so he can't really talk about it.

I just feel like if he truly has any type of case he should be able to say something. I don’t know exactly how NDA’s work, but I would imagine there’s some careful wording he could use at the very least so as not to break it.

He seems to be one of these people who just wants to be believed without disclosing anything. Even though he’s had things done on his behalf in relation to his claims.

Cast an African-American actor as Hal Jordan. The character is race-agnostic; he could be anyone who could fly a jet fighter.

If Samuel L. Jackson can be Nick Fury, Idris Elba can be Hal Jordan.

Obviously he couldn't be Hal Jordan in your movie, since you want an African-AMERICAN actor.

Yeah, I know. First name I thought of. Denzel's kind of old.

It's all hypothetical, anyway, and I doubt Elba would commit to playing Hal Jordan four ten years and eight movies.

Elba would be out anyway, since he's already Bloodsport in the Suicide Squad. But to your initial point, of course you can cast a black Hal Jordan.

Looks like we are getting a new Superman movie, with JJ Abrams producing and Ta-Nehisi Coate writing: https://io9.gizmodo.com/a-superman-solo-film-is-on-the-way-from-ta-nehisi-coate-1846364877

I guess Shazaam 2 is next year?

Don't really care about another Batman reboot, but the other three look good.

Given I'm a big fan of Brosnan, looking forward to his role in Black Adam.
