Still looks like its part of the Titanfall universe. At least we are getting some daylight battles. Hopefully Legion and Ronin make an appearance.

I love seeing Charlie Day in a movie like this!
Otherwise, it looks alright.
Are the robots fighting each other in some of those scenes? Starting wars with each other seems like something man would do when faced with a universal threat.

Looks cool, but can't help that they've gone the YA (young adult) route. Also, I'm tired of the hip-hop remixes playing over trailers. They all sound lame and don't add to the film at all -- its distracting.

Looks fun. I liked the first movie (saw it on IMAX 3D) so I’ll definitely see this one.
It does remind me somewhat of a live action Japanese cartoon.

Can't wait to see this. Looks even more fun than the original.

The new trailer starts out strong, because it felt like I was watching a live-action Neon Genesis Evangelion. But then I got a better a look at the Jaegers and they don't look as cool as the Eva units. The Jaegers look kind of clunky and not as stylish.
Instead of doing a light-weight, westernized imitation of Evangelion/Attack on Titan, why not just get the rights to do adaptations of those?

I don't mind the hippity hoppity. At least it isn't Country Roads again. Do you guys know what period-appropriate future music sounds like?
I was really stoked for a Pacific Rim sequel ... this didn't help.

I agree with islandclaws. This trailer had no "magic" to it beyond looking like an amped up Power Rangers. The special effects look better than DTV, but it has that feel all over it.

A nice synth score or even a reprise of the score from the first film.

I am on the fence about this one, but I did see Pacific Rim in theaters and will probably do the same with this film it just depends on what else is released that same weekend. If it is a packed weekend reviews might influence which film I see on opening weekend, and which the weekend after (if I have not seen a film on its first or second weekend in theaters than it usually but not always means I will end up waiting to see it on cable or purchase the UHD disc).
I get the complaints that this one seems a bit too "sunny" but another film that mostly takes place in the dark would not work for me at all, so here's hoping. All this film needs is for it to be genuinely fun to watch to clear a low bar I have set for it. It certainly does not have to be a masterclass in acting but I do expect the dialogue to be at least two notches above what you hear in a film like say, Sharknado 4 (perhaps too low a bar for the film to clear and I should have some slightly higher standards, but hey...we are not talking about one of The Godfather films so it gets what should be an absurdly easy bar to clear from me).

The animation, monsters, battles look great and all but I get the feeling they're going for the YA crowd. Looks like most of the pilots are the sons/daughters of the previous generation of pilots.

Not really a fan of the young cadet aspect. Glad to see Rinko Kikuchi there. I really enjoyed the first one, but I think i'll wait for reviews on this.

apparently this is tracking to be a colossal dud.
I just rewatched Pacific Rim last night and it is such gorgeous stupid fun.
Even tho I hate when they recast, I kind of hate when they drop previous characters from sequels without a decent explanation even more. I feel they could've just recast Eastman as Jax and it would've worked out just fine.
