Fucking Mouth breathers, don't you know the majesty and wonder that is this film?!
You all just hatin'!
Sorry, just wanted to get that out of the way so Blu's typical comments could already be out of the way of the conversation on how bland and unfun this film is. I think all I needed to know is that Snyder and WB just want the DC films to be dark and gritty, thus not hiring the Flash from TV. Cause everyone knows the only way to make a super hero interesting is to make them gritty.

Ya critics are definitely on Marvels nuts and for good reason they have been making the best comic book movies for a while now but it does feel like if this movie wasn't a perfect combination of Dark Knight and the first Avengers they were going to automatically give it a bad review
Sure theres a chance this movie sucks, i'll find out friday but even without seeing it i feel like theres no way this movie is a 40% movie

Theory 1: Dozens of critics who do not know each other all team up in some sort of conspiracy to take down a movie, one of about 100 that they will watch this year and that they have no stake in in favour of another movie that they also have no stake in. They gain no monetary advantage, or any advantage at all, by doing this.
Theory 2: The director has a history of making mediocre movies and this one stars two mediocre actors. His latest movie ends up being mediocre.

Damnit! Last time I ever pre-order movie tickets. Plus I'm driving an hour to see this at a Laser IMAX when I could have seen it at one 5mins away.
Oh well, $45 down the tubes...

My friend reviewed it:

At its very best, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice depicts sequences ripped straight out of an Alex Ross comic book. When at its worst, this is a cold, muscled-up film that has the feel of something written by Frank Miller, minus the irony. There is far too much on display for me to call one of the biggest superhero movie match-ups of all time bad or not worth your time, but the direction this film takes does see some of the biggest fears being realized. The story and characters fall flat in a gorgeously filmed world that, while mostly exciting, often misplaces the fun.

at blaming the reviewers or some sort of Marvel bias. I know this has been argued for a year or two now, especially by me, but I still don't get how or why people think that might be the case. That's just silly to me.

There are just more "professional" reviewers now.
Regardless, this doesn't sound flatout terrible, it just sounds like a Snyder movie. Or at least, a Snyder extended trailer for Justice League.

So does Superman die at the end?

Also, I've always been a fan of Zack Snyder's flicks. It's also funny that you're talking shit and you haven't seen the film. Do yourself a favor and go back to the theater and get a refund.

Still undecided if I want to catch it Thursday night or Friday morning. Not gonna opt for IMAX or Dolby Cinema so it's just a $5 difference but Friday morning won't be so crazy crowded.

Here's the question; will Deadpool, an R-rated C-list superhero movie, end up making more money than BvS?

As for the refund, I have considered it. But, being a long time Bat-fan, I am still holding out a sliver of hope. I will see the movie tomorrow. But if it doesn't completely blow me away, far exceeding my (extremely low) expectations, it will be the last DCCU movie I ever see in any form - at least until Snyder is fired, and all remaining traces of his and Nolan's influence are purged from Warner.

Well, this quote takes the cake...
The story, like the testicles of a weightlifter on steroids, dwindles away to nothing.

You really need to get some new material. The whole "mouth breathers" shtick is getting kind of old.
When a studio takes the time to release trailers, behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with the filmmakers, and other promotional materials before a film is released, EVERYONE has the right to form opinions about it, without having to wait to see it. If the studio people are so inept that they are incapable of conveying the tone and message of the film through these materials, that is entirely on them.

I was going to keep it "mouth breather" free but Jackskeleton keeps egging me on with that. I emphasized that critics have no vested interested in the film since they did not pay for the screening. I'm sure some couldn't wait to rip the film, which is pretty fucked up. The ultimate judges are those who pay their hard earned dollars for the film. You know, the general movie going audience.
You can formulate an opinion about it beforehand, ill-informed as it will be, but it means nothing until after you see it.

I agree, I can't believe anyone would give two shits what a "professional" review would say about this...you either want to see it in the theater or you don't. NO critic has ever influence me from seeing a movie in the theater.
