I agree. The comics being generated right now are pretty weak. The newest plotline in Real American Heroes? A female Snake Eyes.

I really liked where IDW was taking G.I. Joe with its origins stories, which had a more realistic tone. Unfortunately those stories fizzled out, and all the publisher's limited attention is now being given to the Hama's campier American Hero stories.

I doubt G.I. Joe will ever regain its former glory with a younger audience. Its militaristic, go-USA approach worked well with '80s kids raised at the end of the Cold War, but doesn't seem to really interest today's children. Maybe this movie will rekindle the franchise, but I seriously doubt it.

I'm down for a complete reboot. I somewhat enjoyed the first, didn't like the second very much, but hated how both movies just completely botched some characters.

I actually liked both movies as just popcorn action flicks. I don’t oppose a reboot though.

2 had two redeeming qualities. It killed off Channing Tatum and introduced Adrianne Palicki.

I actually liked The Rock as Roadblock too. Bruce Willis was kind of just serviceable as Joe. It was one of his typical there but kinda half asking it roles.

I was never a huge fan of the cartoon or anything though so I didn’t have a lot to base the films off of and took them for what they were.
