Tammy and the T-Rex (1994)
It's just as absurd & hilarious as its synopsis drums it up to be.
I had not seen the PG-13 cut previous to this but the 'Gore' Cut made the film even more enjoyable, as it features an animatronic T-Rex.

It's hard not to love Jackie Chan's output up to this point in his career. This film is no exception.

The Aeronauts - an Amazon original film starring Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne as a balloon pilot and a meteorologist who take a balloon to record heights in Victorian England. I liked it overall. Some of the commercials make it look like it will be action-packed, which it is not exactly. It is an adventure story, and there are some thrilling moments and the characters are in danger for much of the time, but don't expect wall-to-wall action. It is a drama, and much of the 'current' events on the balloon are intercut with flashbacks showing how each character ended up where they are in life. Jones and Redmayne are both good. This is based on true events, though I don't know how closely. It seems the characters were rather ill-prepared for what they were going to experience. Part of that may be excused by the fact that no one had been to those altitudes before, but c'mon--pack a heavy coat and some gloves if you know you're going up a few miles! 3/5

It sucked
John Ashton came back probably out of retirement for this?

Rambo: Last Blood (2019) — Action (and violence) filled sequel (and likely last) in the Rambo franchise. Not nearly as good as First Blood or Rambo (2008), but still darkly entertaining flick with another solid performance from Stallone who thankfully hasn't gone into the lazy realm like Steven Seagal.
There are some plot contrivances one has to get past but still enjoyed this entry and it is one insane of an ending. 3.75/5

The ending probably the craziest thing I have seen in movies in a long time.

Good send off to the story of Ip Sifu. Some really awesome fight sequences.

Just Mercy.
Strong individual performances by Foxx and Blake Nelson make you believe that they are actually incarcerated. The story line chills you to the bone.

Girl on the Third Floor (2019) — Some interesting moments amongst a lot of the nonsense I dislike from these supernatural horror movies that seem to make up the rules as they go (as a way to gin up some "scares"). CM Punk isn't a very charismatic actor though funny does have some shades of Bruce Campbell (could pass off as his son, actually) but I did like Trieste Kelly Dunn and there some great gore effects, particularly in the third act, that almost makes this worthwhile. Almost. 2.5/5

Zellweger gave a great performance obviously but I was expecting a great movie and not a average or ok movie.
Maybe I thought it would be the complete story about her life and career and not just one part of her life near the end.

Uncut Gems (2019)
The Safdie Brothers deliver another strong script, one that is rife with tension. Rarely does the film give you room to breathe. I felt genuinely exhausted afterwards.
I didn't feel that Adam Sandler's role in the film was as transformative as Robert Pattinson's role in the Safdie Brothers' previous film, Good Time (2017).

What a wacky look at the housing bubble bursting in 2008 and how it really messed up so many lives. It was described as a dark comedy but there were no real laughs to speak of other than the absurdity that McBride's character portrays.

A pointless money grab to remake a movie that came out in 1994 but with more advanced CGI and different actors voicing the characters.
I prefer the original.

Lucky Day (2019) — Kind of torn on this. On the one hand at times it comes across as the poor man's Tarantino (makes sense, written and directed by Roger Avary, who worked with QT on Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, for which he won an Academy Award), however there were moments of some darkly fun humor and Crispin Glover was great, playing a psychotic French assassin.
Don't quite, however, understand why Nina Dobrev was also French as it doesn't really play into the plot whatsoever other than perhaps as an excuse for Avary to use some French music. Otherwise, Luke Bracey was alright and I did like Clé Bennett in his smaller part.
I don't know, was hardly terrible but also doesn't hit the mark overall. Giving it a 2.75/5.

Le grand blond avec une chassure noire(1972) «The tall blond guy with a black shoe»
One of my all-time favourite comedies. The comic performances are top notch, the dialogue is sublime and the showdown between the french secret service boss (Jean Rochefort) and his upstart assistant (Bernard Blier) is a piece of anthology. Hollywood remade this (with Tom Hanks I believe) but it's probably not good like all their remakes of great foreign films.

Still my favourite Zucker, Abrahams, Zucker film. A lot of silly jokes are not as funny as when I was a teenager but still great laugh out loud moments. It's funny that even after more than 30 years I still remembered most of the jokes in details.
