Cliffhanger (Stallone)

Discuss- Did you like it?

I thought this movie was pretty bloody for a action movie, but it was pretty good.

I enjoy the movie. It is certainly a lot of fun and not in a Brucheimer way.

Stallone's best action movie. In the same vein as the Die Hard films - it does what it does well. Great trailer too.

I liked it too, but First Blood was miles better as long as you forget that all that "Rambo" crap that followed it...at least IMO. First Blood had a compelling and complex character and touched on some heavy subject matter.

In contrast, Cliffhanger was a fairly by-the-numbers Die Hard influenced action flick...a very good one though.

Enjoyable flick! One of Stallone's better action movies.

And Janine Turner is super cute.

Pretty good movie actually, but I have to say that First Blood was his best

Jesus, I just watched this (again) this weekend. It's pretty by-the-books stuff but definitely a lot of fun. Also, most of the helicopter shots of Cortina are stunning.

Janine Turner ten years ago= X100.

The film that single-handedly resurrected Stallone's stalled career...yeah, it's great...and that opening scene...wowser!

I just revisited the film a few weeks ago, and I have to say, it was less intense of an action flick than I remembered (prob. due to the crazy stuff they put in movies today). But yeah, I still have a soft spot for those cheesy 90s movies and the one-liners. I have to watch Assassins or Demolition Man next.

Anyone remember the scene in the trailer where Stallone jumped from one mountain to another? If I remember correctly, it got cut because test audiences didn't buy it.

I enjoyed this movie as well. I thought the shots were pretty intense, Lithgow creeps me out, and the mountains are always beautiful. The only thing that I didn't really like was Stallone.

Well, good thing he's only in it for about 120 minutes or so, huh?

Pretty solid movie, but I thought too many people survived. I don't mind this, if I'm pretty invested in the characters, but not when they're there, just to serve the movie.

Always a fun ride when I come across it on TV.

Reminds me, I should get around to buying this on DVD.

For some reason the way CSI Miami guy gets it in the movie will always stick in my mind. Then again most of the death scenes in this movie are pretty sweet.

This is one of Sly's best popcorn action movies.

You mean David Caruso? That was First Blood... was it not?

The opening scene, with Stallone's POV to the falling woman still makes my stomach feel queasy - what a horrible way to go.

Always liked this flick - plus it's famous among my friends because once, while looking for a Friday night rental, I misspoke and asked if anyone wanted to get "Clingheffer."

That still makes me laugh...

Let's talk about Cliffhanger.

I just saw it for the first time last night in full. Had seen bits and pieces as a kid, but man. I know that this will be one that I'll be watching again and again. Lots of fun performances. Rex Linn, Leon, Michael Rooker, Lithgow and of course Stallone.

I enjoyed it. It's a good 90's Stallone flick. The opening scene where Rooker's GF slips out of Stallone's grip and falls to her death is a heartbreaking and chilling scene. I will never ever go mountain climbing after seeing that scene.

Re: Let's talk about Cliffhanger.

Probably one of the sloppiest films as far as inconsistencies, etc. But it's still a great over the top action film - great score, characters, etc. Definitely one of Stallone's best outside of Rocky and Rambo.
