It would be interesting to take a survey and to see of those who hate it, how old you are and if the movie was already popular when you saw it, and those who do like it, what sort of mindset they were in when they first saw it. The movie, by itself, objectively, is just fine. But not even the greatest movie can stand up to repeated airings on TV.

I don't hate it, but I'm sick of it. It's a charming little movie that has been run into the ground.

I love it too. No other movie successfully bottled up that feeling of "that one special Christmas and gift" more than ACS. What's really hilarious, watch the movie from the viewpoint of the father, who obviously just wants to get through the holiday.

at this point, it's one of those "comfort" movies... that you just have on in the background during the holidays. I personally still very much like it.
