Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
Die Hard 2 is awesome though it's easier to accept if you entirely wipe the original from your mind while watching.

Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
In a world where A Good Day to Die Hard exists... Die Hard 2 is nearly a masterpiece.

Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
As always, we watched Die Hard on New Year’s Day. Find me a better action movie. Actually don’t bother, you can’t. Bruce is John Mclane. It’s a performance of a lifetime and as iconic as Hamill as Skywalker or any other all time great character portrayal. The sequels are crappy but so what. I wish Bruce the best.

Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
Agree, it was perfect casting for John McClane. And for Hans Gruber, as well.

I expected this to be bumped for a RIP.

Channeling my inner cynic, I believe his family and management milked the cash cow as long as possible and only when the rumours were getting louder and louder, it was disclosed that he was sick. |

Perhaps it was just what he wanted to do, to get as much money as possbile in the time he had left or he just liked making movies and went for the easy ones, which didn't get much attention anyway.
The last 2 years while working after his diagnosis, he couldn't have made all that much money since his movies have been box office bombs for a while (ie. straight-to-DVD quality). Being VERY generous, he was probably worth 230mill before his diagnosis. Not exactly starving. His wife, kids, grandkids and great-grandkids already didn't have to work a day in their lives. |
Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
he looks good. the end part of dementia usually is significant apathy and weight loss and he does not look gaunt.

Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
There is no audio, but Bruce Willis was out and about talking to the California 1st responders

Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
There are some unconfirmed reports going around that Willis can no longer speak, read and has difficulty walking.
If true, that’s devastating to hear. |
Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
It's very sad. Not unexpected considering his illness.
He had one of the best runs anyone could have ever expected in that world. |
Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
Bruce Willis is now living in a second home away from his family with 24/7 medical care. Not a good sign he'll be around much longer.

Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
It's so sad. I don't necessarily think it means he'll die soon, more likely that he's just cognitively declining much more lately. He might hang on for a decade or longer, but what a terrible existence it will be.

Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
Many great family photos in that link above. Just so sad...

Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
Just sad that he reportedly has deteriorated cognitively so bad.

Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
My wish would be that his family let him become a completely private figure and no longer provide the public with any information about his health. Let him live as comfortably as he can until he passes away. When that day comes, people can mourn and pay tribute.

I think his family realizes that he’s a beloved figure and want to keep his fans in the loop but as far as I’m aware, they’ve kept Bruce, himself, completely away from the cameras and the public. The only info the family is releasing is carefully culled family photos and guarded interviews to bring awareness to his situation.

Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
I can see and appreciate both sides, but I side with keeping radio silent. He is a key figure in my formative years, yes, but his family owes me nothing. They have shared more than any of us deserve.
