Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
The thought that someone who earned what Bruce Willis did was trying to set up his family is hilarious.
Unless he gambled a lot of his fortune away, Bruce Willis could nave retired in the late 90s and never worked again. |
Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
Are you guys being obtuse on purpose?
Bruce was offered/getting paid a million dollars for a few days worth of work acting on a movie. Why the fuck wouldn’t he cash in on what little time he had left to make what he could? Even when you’re a millionaire, a million dollars is still a million dollars. |
Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
That LA Times article that came out a while back seemed to insinuate that his management team may have been taking advantage of him and his condition for the limited work and big payday.
|
Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
If that was indeed the case, it’s horrible indeed. I hope the family wasn’t letting this happen. Unless of course they were unaware of his health problems.
It’s one thing to plan for your family of your own free will, it’s another to be taken advantage of by those said people. |
Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
And I remember thinking it was weird when he didn't want to come back for Expendables 3. Even Stallone got upset and said they were offering Willis something like 6 million dollars for 3-5 days of work. It's the reason why Harrison Ford replaced him. They even let Harrison bring his helicopter and fly it for the film. So I've read.

Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
Willis started doing those shitty movies when he was still making real movies and so do a lot of other A-listers from yesteryear. So I'm pretty sure he was cashing in when he was full aware of it. The output he had in the last 3 years, lets me to believe that his management was cashing in, but I wouldn't say it's not a possibility he was holding on to something and just did the amount of acting he could as long as he could and sometimes he felt lost and other times he was fine.
Either way, to me, his career started fading out 10 years ago with the sequels of Sin City and RED and his career ended with a good supporting performance in Motherless Brooklyn. |

I thought it was very well known that actors are always the model of financial responsibility and stability. There's certainly no precedent for an actor who has earned a lot of money in a career to have financial problems, is there? -rolleyes-

Second, So far, there is no cure for FTD and no way to slow down or prevent these diseases. However, there are ways to manage symptoms. A team of specialists — doctors, nurses, and speech, physical, and occupational therapists — familiar with these disorders can help guide treatment. The symptoms mentioned above are mostly psychological: Depression, eating disorders, misplaced aggressive behavior, delusions. Also loss of motor skills and speech impairment. Now, do you want to tell us that all the people in the United States getting psychological therapy, speech therapy, and physical therapy --or just taking prescribed anti-depressants or anti-psychotic medication, need to have tens of millions of dollars in the bank to pay for their care. Willis is over 65. He can go on Medicare. He's rich as holy fuck. You can just admit that what you said was misguided, you know, and be done with it. And let me just be clear to anyone else, Willis was free to chase a buck wherever he could find one, and I don't begrudge him a single dime. But he didn't NEED the money. |

April 2022: Bruce Willis and his wife have sold $65 million in real estate over the last four years, as the beloved actor sought to simplify his life amid his deteriorating health. |

Sure whatever you say. You’re right. Uh huh.

Let's do Tom Hanks and George Clooney next. I say they're both fantastically rich. I know it's an odd and controversial opinion, but I stand by it. |

First, how much do imagine medical treatments could possibly cost? It is estimated that Willis is worth $200 million or more. He recently sold one of his homes for $27 million.
I'm talking hypothetically about possible experimental treatments, not conventional. |

I read that story a week or so ago. It’s sad. Sounds like Bruce is deteriorating pretty quickly.
As far as us, I don’t imagine we’ll ever see him out and about again, with the exception of a sleazy paparazzi pic or single family photo posted by his wife. |
