$20 that Harrison Ford didn't really break his ankle on the Falcon's door. What really happened was he tripped over Hayden Christensen' Vader cape during a scene and they won't admit it because it would be a massive spoiler.

So he didn't trip over Hayden's cape, but Fisher's beef curtains? I'd still do her.

Man, fuck the EU. Let the films and tv series follow their own paths without being constrained by every crappy novel published with a LucasFilm trademark.

I hate the EU so much I accidentally joined the UK Independence Party.

It was one of the few EU stories praised by Lucas and has been reprinted numerous times.

It has more fans than you think, it's just the detractors are louder.

Damning with praise, I think is the term.

In this case it's more like praising with faint damns.

And I wonder how many of the people that praise it have read it more recently than the Clinton Administration.

Riiight, because they've done such a stellar job since 83 on that front. Outside of the Clone Wars cartoon, the EU probably has a better batting record than anything produced since Return of the Jedi. And this is from someone who quit the EU about a decade ago.

I'm sure there have been good EU works. But the idea that all new works have to be consistent with EVERYTHING previously published under the Star Wars name? Forget that noise.

That's a totally different argument and tone than your first post.

Being praised by Lucas wouldn't mean much to me. The guy changes his mind so often on what his visions for Star Wars are its ridiculous. So glad he's not part of the new films.

Yeah, it's not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Pretty safe to say he's going to be getting a lightsaber, no?

The Falcon is being constructed at Royal Air Force Station Greenham Common in Berkshire. An X-Wing is on site as well.

I know it's all about the original trilogy nostalgia, but if the sequel trilogy is set 30 years later, it seems odd that they are still using 30 year old technology such as X-Wings. Aren't there newer fighter craft? Using a X-Wing in the sequels is like when you see a 1980 car on the road.

We're still using a lot of F/A-18 fighter jets and they're over 30 years old.

Or the SR-71. I'm sure the technology in it has been updated many times over the years, but still.
