Again...mindblowing.

re: Peanuts (2015) S: Snoopy, et al
"A Boy Named Charlie Brown" remains the gold standard to try and emulate. I too, fear they're going 3-D CGI on this, but better that than some kind of live-action/animated combination. Let's just pray they don't decide to have Snoopy and Woodstock speak English.

It will depend on the story. I wouldn't mind if it was animated in the style of Iron Giant.

re: Peanuts (2015) S: Snoopy, et al
It would be difficult for me to be more skeptical.

re: Peanuts (2015) S: Snoopy, et al
This will be probably be somewhat in between Yogi Bear and Smurfs on the shit scale. I'd love to see a satire of Charlie Brown the character though.

re: Peanuts (2015) S: Snoopy, et al
Hopefully this finally gets the studio to get off their butts and release "Bon Voyage Charlie Brown" on either DVD or Blu-ray.

Good grief!

re: Peanuts (2015) S: Snoopy, et al
Do not want to see this in CGI.

re: Peanuts (2015) S: Snoopy, et al
Making them live action adults would be too gimmicky to me.
I hope its not full on 3D animation. |
re: Peanuts (2015) S: Snoopy, et al
This time around Fergie probably doesn't have the clout to play Sally.

re: Peanuts (2015) S: Snoopy, et al
I read all of the books and collected strips as a kid. But I understand if one was only exposed to the X-mas, Thanksgiving and Halloween specials how it becomes rather 'meh'.

Let's just hope they don't hire celebrity voice actors for the roles...I can think of nothing worse than Seth Rogen as Charlie Brown, Sarah Silverman as Lucy, and Samuel L. Jackson as Linus. :) "Say 'what' again Charlie Brown...I dare you!"

Bit surprised that Fox ended up with this considering Warner bought up the existing franchise, or at least the specials.

I know I'm old, but Peanuts hasn't been handled well since Race for Your Life. Whether it be the sloppily handled DVD releases or the writing of the specials, it's just not the show I grew up with. It's become nothing more than a series of loosely-connected vignettes of the strip.

For the soundtrack, get someone like Wynton Marsalis or Herb Albert to voice the adults.

re: Peanuts (2015) S: Snoopy, et al
Just because the letters CGI are used, that doesn't mean it's going to look like The Smurfs or Yogi Bear. Wasn't last year's Winnie the Pooh movie created on computer, yet looked like classic animation?

re: Peanuts (2015) S: Snoopy, et al
Yes. Though we, well at least I know that I do, know that Pooh wasn't created by hand...that's a lost art essentially in the US. We use the term CGI to refer to stuff like...Pixar, Sony's animation crap, dreamworks stuff, etc. If it's got polygons in a 3D environment..it's CGI. That's what people call it and know it as...technically though...it also does 2D. Which some people may not know or actually realize.

re: Peanuts (2015) S: Snoopy, et al
Why the hell should I pay $10 to see a Peanuts movie at the theater when I used to be able to watch all their stuff on regular TV for free. That's just nuts. -kd5-

How about just screw it all up. Live action Charlie Brown & kids, CG environment & traditional 2d animated Snoopy. Claymation for the opening credits just for fun.
