I believe it's referring to "the elephant in the room," i.e., a problem that everyone is aware of but nobody wants to talk about. I think it's a great title.

Sexy Beast - It's a crime thriller, but the title makes it sound like gay porn.

Must be the case. Judging from the

underground railroad
plot point from the trailer I guess that's what the ghosts rode.

What about that doesn't make sense ? The movie was Indiana Jones who was searching for the ark, along with a group of Nazis who were trying to steal the ark. Hence the term raiders.

Mallrats are kids who hang out in malls...back in the 80s and early 90s, anyway.

Makes perfect sense. Final Destination is referring to death as the final destination. It doesn't have anything to do with how many of the movies there are.

Some of us like to think of IJ as one of the raiders.

Chinese food dinners are often sold as family meals. You can get a meal for two, or four, or six...

When you order for six people, the restaurant gives you some free egg rolls as a bonus, to encourage you to order the higher priced meal.

Customer: Can I get a meal for five, please?
Waiter: With six you get egg roll.

That's not it. Meals in Asian restaurants are often labeled by number so that white people won't spend 20 minutes tripping over dishes like bun tom thit nuong.

So people will order saying things like "I'll have two 5s, a 6 and a 13."

Waiter: With six you get egg roll.

Re: Movie titles that don't make sense

But in the movie there was six in the family. So it's referring to the dining group.

Romancing The Stone.

I like the movie but thought it's was dumb title. I remember Siskel and Ebert reviewing it and both gave a thumps up but didn't like the the title either.

"Oh, oh *I'm* the creep, huh? Well at least I'm honest: I'm *stealing* this stone. I'm not trying to romance it out from under her."

Re: Movie titles that don't make sense

True Romance - people unfamiliar with this film sometimes wonder why I have a chick flick in my collection.

Stand By Me - I liked the original title of Stephen Kings story better...."The Body". Why name it after some overplayed song?

Sorceror - I think I read that it's the name of one of the truck or something, but it's not explained well in the film & is very misleading at to what type of movie this is.

American Graffitti - this movie is not about taggers. Why graffitti instead of a million other 50's cliches?

Or - stay with me here, because this is just a crazy theory - they might have meant for the title to have two meanings.

I'm just guessing, the only things I know about this movie is the title and that it has six people in a dining group, but I'm 10,000% certain that's at least a possibility.

Re: Movie titles that don't make sense

According to the synopsis on Wikipedia:

"The title of the movie comes from a scene where the family goes out for Chinese food, and one of the kids notices that because they are a large group, they get something extra. "Hey! With six you get eggroll!""
