The Anarchist Serfs, only because you left the best part:

The opening credits.

The ones listed are all great scenes, but I opt for one not listed: the one where they argue about the swallow, because it's a setup for the best gag in the film which comes just before the end. ("African or European?")

Re: Favorite MONTY PYTHON and the HOLY GRAIL scene

While the Black Knight scene is extremely quotable for me, the one I remember getting the biggest laugh from me the first time I saw it was the "Knights of the Round Table" song. I still giggle at the guy clapping while hanging alone in the dungeon.

Re: Favorite MONTY PYTHON and the HOLY GRAIL scene

I think my favorite moment is when they aren't really doing anything, and God comes out and says "Get on with it!" Either that or the convent scene.

That's the very first option listed.

Ah! Now that you mention it,
Of Kings and Coconuts - "he could grab it by the husk"
does refer to the scene I'm talking about. I just don't immediately associate that scene with those keywords.

Re: Favorite MONTY PYTHON and the HOLY GRAIL scene

I went for other, the scene where they're reading the inscription on the cave wall.

"Why would he write 'Yeeeeargh'?"
"He must have died while he was writing it."
"If he had died while writing it, he would have just said 'Yeeeeargh,' he wouldn't have written it."
"Maybe he was taking dictation?"

And while the movie is good, it's no Life of Brian.

You must have watched it with the sound off.

This is like a parent with multiple children having to choose to keep one and kill the rest.

The film is nearly perfect for me until the last scene or two.

He's not the only person. I have a friend who is completely baffled by it's popularity. She thinks it's just random stupidity.

She also hates the Marx Brothers. And Loony Tunes. And all British humor.

I feel sorry for her, and for Rockmjd23.

LOB is one of the best comedies ever made. The sermon on the mount, the stoning scene, the Latin grammar lesson, what have the Romans ever done for us, the guy who wants to be a woman, Biggus Dickus, and on and on.
