Who would have guessed that Christopher Plummer was black?

Yes, I agree with you on Zooey as well. I guess you have to be a fan of "quirky" to get them or something.

We still have to put up with "Academy Award Nominated Jonah Hill" though.

Yay Christopher Plummer. This doesn't feel like a "lifetime achievement" oscar, his performance was great and he deserved it.

I really feel that Harry Potter is getting painfully ignored tonight, but they can console themselves by rolling around in all their money.

I was hoping Kenneth Branagh would sneak in and win this one, but it's hard to argue with Christopher Plummer.

The acting awards are all going according to predictions, and everything else is going to Hugo apparently. Kicking myself for not seeing it already.

Then again nothing this year really is.
First of all, "Hugo" was outstanding, and worthy of all of it's nominations. Just curious what movies you liked this year. If you didn't like any of this year's films, why are you even watching the Oscars?

Glad he pointed out his wife. My wife was insisting he was really gay. I win that round.

Plummer's best role is always "Narrator".

Titanic commercial! I know a lot of you on this board aren't fans, but I'm looking forward to seeing it on the big screen again (even though I deplore 3D). Hopefully they have 2D screenings as well.

Oh, you mad.

It seems to be the consensus that the nominations this year are mostly a joke(cough Extremely loud blah blah blah), even compared to last year. Out of everything nominated for best picture, the only two I actually liked were Hugo and the Artist, but neither are "best picture" worthy.

Sorry I'm not sucking the dick of Hugo, I didn't think it was THAT good.

I'm watching because
a) there's nothing on and
b) I'm getting my degree in film production

He has a famous daughter so that might be problematic. Amanda Plummer from the opening scene of Pulp Fiction. aka "Honey Bunny".

Isn't the whole point of the re-release that it's been converted to 3D? I doubt there will be 2D showings.
