Maybe since Me, myself, and Irene.
That was another lifetime ago.
Plus...that title for the potential sequel is fucking stupid, and not in a good way.

Yea. Such an epic beginning. Their movies are always cheerful and energetic. But they haven't been epic-ly funny, the way their first movies were.

13 years since they made a good film...maybe that is why Warner balked on the sequel.

When asked by Jimmy Fallon on Monday's Late Night whether a sequel was in the works, Daniels offered a Harry-esque thumbs up.
The sequel has had numerous reported starts and stops, which may have led Daniels to say, "I'll believe it's happening when I'm actually there staring at Jim Carrey, but it looks like we're starting in September."
The movie's set to be released next year, to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the first Dumb & Dumber.

They're not going to top anything from he first one. The sequel has too much potential which will be wasted given where the Farrely's have fallen over the past decade.
I'm hoping it will be entertaining but I'll have my expectations in check when this hits theaters.

I remember reading an interview w Daniels saying that it will be a challenge for him to dumb himself down after working now 2 years on the Newsroom

EXCLUSIVE: The Walking Dead cast member Laurie Holden has landed a co-starring role in Dumb And Dumber To, starring alongside Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels in the Peter and Bobby Farrelly-directed sequel that is being financed by Red Granite. Holden will play Adele Pichlow, the well to do wife of a doctor who is up to no good and who plans to use Harry and Lloyd to cover her tracks. Holden played Andrea since the start of AMC’s The Walking Dead. She previously appeared opposite Carrey in Frank Darabont’s The Majestic. She’s repped by APA and Alan Wertheimer.

It COULD be good, but I really think the time for this kind of movie has passed. At least with these same characters. And if you look at Dumb And Dumberer as a Dumb And Dumber prequel, of course it's going to suck. The first movie is a classic. But if you just look at it as a movie in it's own right, it's pretty funny.

I'm not sure I'll like this, partly because of how the Farrelly brothers' movies have gone downhill, but also partly because my sense of humor has changed drastically since 1994. I hope it's good.

Their first three movies were almost genius level comedy. Three of the funniest movies I have ever seen, after that everything was in my opinion terrible. Not even worth a rental. They are the M. Night Shayamalan of comedy (although he only made 2 and 3/4 of watchable film).
