I feel like I would like the poster if it was for another movie, but I'm in for the third.

Re: [REC] 3: Genesis

I've already pre-ordered the UK Blu-ray - I imported the first two films due to the U.S. not securing decent rights to the BD's. Subtitles don't mean shit since I'm fluent in Spanish - I just remove them while I watch the flicks.

The first film is region B (spanish import), so no, but the Japanese BD is region free, but has no English subs. I've got a feeling Genesis will be region B, but I've got a region free player, so it doesn't matter.

There are French releases as well, but to date, most RECs with exception to the Japanese version have all been region B locked.

Re: [REC] 3: Genesis

I'm a spanish speaker so I don't need subtitles..but hate getting non region free bds that lock the features. These are films I really really want to see how they made them.

The Japanese one would be your best bet. It has quite a few special features in Spanish with non-removable Japanese subtitles, but it's going to cost you a bit. I think I paid $40 for it, but I had a connection in Japan who ordered it to his address there and just shipped to me directly. I watch it via my PS3.

Re: [REC] 3: Genesis

Looking at the BD from Japan for REC2, region free and 207 mins of features? I'd go w/ that. Seems like REC1 from there has no features of worth aside from trailers. Hrmmmmm...

I really liked the first movie in this series, never got around to watching the second movie, but I have to say this one looks like a lot of fun.

Correct. The Spanish one is the way to go, but it's region B.

Damn me for not going w/ a region free player. I just love my PS3 too much. I'll note this for the future. Japan for REC2. Spain for REC.

Re: [REC] 3: Genesis

I ordered a 2-pack of Rec/Rec 2 on BD from Amazon Canada for $20. That's easily the best way to go if you want the films. Not sure what, if any, bonus features are included, though.

I think they skimped out on the features, but that's the closest you can get them for stateside prices.

That's actually the first import I ever bought; I went region free for REC.

Re: [REC] 3: Genesis

Snake, I have a ps3 also, and on a whim i bought the reg B steelbook of Return of the Living Dead (had to have that original soundtrack). Anyway, turns out that when the ps3 screams WRONG REGION at you, you hit triangle (menu) and it takes you to the menu, ready to play. Not sure if it works for all Bs, but it's worth knowing.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know a UK release of the film was coming soon.

Definitely going to pick it up in September.

Re: [REC] 3: Genesis

I finally caught the trailer for this last night. I didn't realize Paco Plaza has done all 3 films, but this one looks terrible. I'll still give it a watch, but it doesn't give me the vibe of the first two at all.

Me too. The only reason I haven't pre-ordered is because I'll probably order a few other titles at the same time. I own the UK releases of 1 and 2 on Blu-ray, but there ARE Canadian discs that are fairly cheap for those that want/need Region A. Not sure about special features on those releases though.

Re: [REC] 3: Genesis

Yikes. This movie was BAD. I can't believe how terrible this was. The people behind the first 2 movies obviously weren't involved in this one. It plays off as a comedy. Sponge John. That says it all...

Wrong. They were BOTH involved, which is why I can't take your commentary at face value.

Well my mistake. Their involvement isn't reflected in the movie. The mood is very different from the first two. I guess they wanted to do something different but it plays off as a comedy. Literally, there is a character dressed as Sponge Bob Square Pants...

The stuff that comes off as comedy is not accidental; that is the tone they were aiming for.

The movie is very different from the first two, but I think it's a lot of fun. From what I've read, the fourth film will pick up where the second one leaves off and will go back to the found footage concept.

Nope. http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/31...found-footage/
