I cannot wait for this movie. I already knew this movie was going to look stunning and the small snippets that teaser shows make me know its going to be an exceptionally beautiful movie. If thats the vibe they are going with the soundtrack as well then i am also really digging it.
CANNOT WAIT.

never a huge fan of this movie tbh... remind me... don't replicants age very fast, or not at all? i don't recall... doesn't having an old man Ford prove that Dekker was human?

That actually looks pretty good.
(On the other hand, so did some of the early Prometheus stuff, too...)

No trailer will be able to determine how the characters will be handled in this one. Despite any director, from this guy to even Ridley Scott, I have low expectations this will come close to the original. It'll maybe get close to matching the visuals, but even then, that's all it may have.

If this movie definitively makes Deckard a Replicant than I will likely skip it. Rachael doesn't have an unlimited life span in any of Scott's preferred cuts of BR, so if Deckard is an old man and is also a Replicant then I'll know that this movie isn't worth my time.

It's always been definite. Sure, a blink and you miss it scene, but it's always been there.

I thought Rachel being a special kind of replicant that didn't have the 4-year lifespan was only added for the "happy ending" theatrical release.
The Director's Cut was better IMO, because if you think Deckard is a human, he throws his life away to go on the run with a simulation of a human who only has 4 years to live.
If you think Deckard is a replicant too, then it's just as bitter an ending because he goes on the run with Rachel to live out the rest of their short lives in fear.
This teaser looks nice, especially paired with the music, but I really don't want to see a a 70 year old Deckard. I like that the DC ended on an ambiguous note, and that is kind of undone with a sequel.

Then again, they may have just said fuck it and made Deckard human and that's why he's old. Then again, maybe Deckard is a replicant that ages - "more human than human" and all that.
I would love to read the script. Hampton Fancher co-wrote it, so it's got that going for it.

Does Villeneuve know, though? I mean... did Ridley Scott know if he was or wasn't when he made the first Blade Runner? If he did, would he have confided in Villeneuve with that information?
Which then raises the question... can a filmmaker make a movie like the original (or like this sequel) without being certain of the answer to that question, even if he never intends the viewer to have the answer?
hmm....
