Oculus has also confirmed that Blade Runner 2049 will be released in virtual reality on the Oculus Rift and other Oculus platforms (read: Samsung Gear VR), as well as in cinemas. Whether that means there will be a simultaneous release is unclear, but Oculus has promised to reveal more details at a later date.

Villaneuve has my most anticipated movie of this year, The Arrival. and next year Blade Runner 2049. By a LOT.

According to a new report over at Trailer Track, we may be getting our first look at Denis Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049 a lot sooner than we thought, possibly as early as next week.
Turns out the Canadian Consumer Protection board recently filed a classification for the trailer, in which they reveal the run-time (just over 90 seconds) and the rating ("Approved for exhibition for all films", which I'm guessing is how Canadians say "Green-Band Trailer").
Furthermore, Trailer Track says they expect the trailer to land as early as next week, and theorize that it may end up attached to prints of Morten Tyldum's Passengers, which arrives next Friday.

Villeneuve directing. Score from Johann Johannsson. Roger Deakins as cinematographer. I have the highest hopes for this. Hope it's a big win.

They screened a trailer at an all hands meeting for Sony employees on the lot on 11/18. A lot of the visual imagery was very close to the original Blade Runner. Harrison is looking kinda fragile when he comes in at the end of the trailer and says [IIRC] "I used to do what you do" while holding his gun to Gosling.

Yea. I think they're doing their best to NOT make this the next "Die Hard" sequel, "Total Recall" or "Robocop" reboot (all that money spent on a totally forgettable and voiceless movie). I have faith that Ridley Scott is doing his best to put together something special.
