I would like to know what you guys' thoughts are on this issue. Has any celebrity come out and discussed how they feel about the randomness of the N word being used in QT's films?

re: Django Unchained - Quentin Tarantino spaghetti western
considering the time frame and location...no..it's not randomly used..I'm sure it was very common. Was just the way it was....

re: Django Unchained - Quentin Tarantino spaghetti western
Has Christoph Waltz been confirmed yet? I don't see anyone but him playing the role of Schultz.

re: Django Unchained - Quentin Tarantino spaghetti western
Jamie Foxx confirmed his role in a story on Yahoo.
Didn't realize that Kerry Washington will play as Broomhilda. Pretty good casting. |
re: Django Unchained - Quentin Tarantino spaghetti western
Thank God he didn't cast Chris Tucker...can't believe he even considered him.

Lucky guess. |
re: Django Unchained - Quentin Tarantino spaghetti western
Kerry Washington is a great choice!

re: Django Unchained - Quentin Tarantino spaghetti western
That story also seems to confirm Dicaprio. Helluva cast even if I'd have preferred a different lead.

Kevin Costner to Train Slaves in 'Django Unchained'
The actor joins Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson for the Quentin Tarantino helmed Western. 7/18/2011 by Borys Kit Kevin Costner is joining the all-star cast of Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, the filmmaker's spaghetti Western about a slave in the Old South who teams with a German bounty hunter to search for his wife. Costner joins a cast that already such bold-faced names as Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Samuel L. Jackson, and Christoph Waltz. Costner’s role is a departure from his good-guy roles and a cannonballing into the part of a vile and sadistic trainer of slaves who are forced to fight in death matches for a plantation owner (DiCaprio, also departing from his usual). Foxx is Django, a man in search of his wife while Waltz is the German who helps him on his quest. Jackson is a head slave who works for DiCaprio and relishes his status over other slaves. Django ist the second high-profile gig snagged by Costner, once of the biggest studio stars. He recently nabbed the part of Superman’s Earth-bound father, Pa Kent, in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel movie. Costner is repped by WME. |

Damn, QT is getting together a great cast. I love Costner, and I think he's got all the right ingredients for a solid career resurgence with these strong supporting roles he's taking lately.

re: Django Unchained - Quentin Tarantino spaghetti western
Any chance of getting this thread title changed to "Django Unchained" as the movie is no longer untitled?

I don't think QT got a solid performance out of Pitt. I've always felt that Pitt was the one false note in INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS.

I think Pitt was perfect. I thought the way he played it was intentional.
|
re: Django Unchained - Quentin Tarantino spaghetti western
This actually sounds great. I'll be interested in seeing how Costner and Dicaprio work as bad guys/villans.

Yeah, it was intentional and it was great.

re: Django Unchained - Quentin Tarantino spaghetti western
I realize it was intentional but nobody down south talks like that and I know PLENTY of backwoods rednecks.
|
re: Django Unchained - Quentin Tarantino spaghetti western
I am really excited for this project after seeing the 5 principle actors in the cast. This should be interesting.
