"The Expendables" was a resounding turd. Horrible on every level.

A-Team should have had the success that the Expendables got

It had Liam Neeson as Hannibal, and a god damn tank falling out of a plane, what the f*** else could people want??

I'll agree on that the A-Team needed a much bigger Box Office...the thing that MAY have killed it though was the trailers etc.

That tank scene looked really bad in the trailer. IN context while watching the film...it was fucking awesome. Just the trailers were ok. The film was fucking awesome.

Neither should've had success at the box office because they both sucked.

Harsh, but fair.

Let's face it: All of the appeal of The Expendables was based on nostalgia. It was all "There's Sly. There's Arnold. There's Jet. Man, I remember much better movies they were in that came out 20 to 30 years ago. Boy, those were some movies! I have good memories associated with them!"

I Am Number Four debuted at... number 4 this weekend. The studio now plans to release it worldwide as Wait, I meant I Am Number ONE.

I took the kids to see it last night, and was expecting garbage. I have to admit, I enjoyed it quite a bit. From the lines thrown out that were obviously going over the kid's heads, but funny for adults...to the EJ soundtrack, which kept the movie bouncing along. I'd give it a solid B rating.

It was neither a great film nor fucking awesome. Rambo was fucking awesome. The Expendables was embarrassing.

Just because people know of the movie doesn't mean people want to see the movie. The advertising for it was embarassing. I kind of like DJ Caruso as a director due to my enjoyment of Salton Sea, but I haven't been a fan of anything since then.

so....I literally don't know who Caruso is....turns out...I've seen nothing by him. Seems like a guy that a studio hires to get the job done. Nothing special about him.

He made a very good film called The Salton Sea. While the casting and look of some of his tweakers reveals an ignorance of real meth addicts, the film is shot very stylishly, is wonderfully written and has Val Kilmer giving a brilliant performance.

Agreed. "Cop Land" proved that Stallone can be a great actor when he wants to be. "Rocky Balboa" and "Rambo" proved he can still write and direct. But his homage to those bad 80's action films was just a, well, bad movie.

I read somewhere this week it still has something like 4 or 5 major territories yet to open in the world. So we could see it grossing another 25-50M more.
