Three key moments, all of them sensual, define Ana's life. Her carnal search sways between reality and colored fantasies becoming more and more oppressive. A black laced hand prevents her from screaming. The wind lifts her dress and caresses her thighs. A razor blade brushes her skin, where will this chaotic and carnivorous journey leave her?

Looks interesting. Haven't fallen into the Giallo genre yet. What films should I watch to get into that mindset of the genre?

some people consider suspiria to be one but i think of it more as a supernatural horror film.
if you want an american version of the giallo, then i'd recommend dress to kill.
basically they're stylized hitchcockian slasher films.

^^ I agree with you for the most part on Suspiria (however, it definitely popped into my mind when watching this trailer) and I highly recommend it
I couldn't have picked better starting points and I'll add Twitch of the Death Nerve by Bava.
Really anything by Bava, earlier-Fulci, Argento
A lot of these movies were influential to the American slasher film (notably the first Friday the 13th)

The above recommendations are all good. Start with those and if you like what you see, check out some of Sergio Martinez's stuff. He's not as well known as Argento, Bava, etc. but he did some really great work in the genre, especially Torso.

For those of you who are Region Free, the UK Blu-Ray and DVD releases of this film are due out January 2011.
I believe the U.S release is tentative for March 2011.

Re: Amer (2010) - (neo-giallo flick)
i "obtained" a copy of this and watched it today. really heavy on style and mood and lacking on plot (just like most giallos). it very well put together (amazing editing) and i enjoyed it a great deal. however, i was expecting a little more stalk and slash and probably some sort of murder mystery but it wasn't really like that. the story is essentially 3 disturbing fragments of a girl's life; as a child, a teenager, and an adult. all of which were very creepy and highly sexualized. i definitely recommend this to fans of giallos but also to anyone who enjoys films drenched in a strong visual style.
