Looks like the marketing for Taken 2, errrr... Unknown sucked people in this weekend. I can't believe anyone would want to see BM: LF, LS. Might be one of the worst trailers in years.
The Bieb takes a sizeable hit. Hey, tween girls on have so much disposable income.

May not be the best movie but theres something refreshing about an r rated action movie headlined by a guy pushing 60 beating all the other crap.

Not that I'm jumping to the defense of Beebs, but his movie would be at about 45mill after the wknd, not 38. Deadline's addition is often wrong for some reason...

Is Big Mommas 3 the absolute bottom of the barrel for Hollywood? I can't believe someone at Fox said "yes, the people want to see Martin Lawrence dress up as a big fat woman for a third time! greenlit!"
I mean, really. I admit that the first one had occasional laughs, but I avoided part 2 because I think one go around with Lawrence in fat drag is enough. Apparently those who worship Tyler Perry's garbage can't get enough of it.
Why do black people like black men dressing up in drag so much?

Every time I would see a ad for Big Momma's it made me think of one of Tracy Morgan's 30 Rock movies. "This honky grandma be trippin'!"

The article is a bit old, but it obviously hasn't aged one bit:
http://movies.msn.com/movie-guide-wi...-in-hollywood/
http://movies.msn.com/movie-guide-wi...-in-hollywood/
The fact that the three most financially successful black actresses of all time are Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence and Tyler Perry, all dressed as women and in fat suits sounds either ridiculous or inflammatory, or perhaps a combination of both. But once you sit down and really look at the facts and figures, some rather unsettling trends start to emerge.

People going around saying the first "Big Momma" movie was "decent" make me

That was one of the first DVDs I ever reviewed. It was almost the last. I wanted to tactical nuke both Martin Lawrence and Raja Gosnell afterward. In retrospect, I should have.

Not to mention these films have the WORST "fat" make up and suits ever.

I'm kind of surprised by the soft opening for Jumper 2 I Am Number Four, considering the advertising push that I have been noticing for the past few weeks. It's not a horrible number, but I would've expected somewhere in the 30s for it.

/\ Really? It seems to be doing a lot better than I would've expected (roughly $55 million in 10 days).
