ok, I stand corrected, even though he grew up in England and obviously has the accent.

Also Superman isn't American. They should hire a Kryptonian actor to play him for true authenticity.

Barack Obama is otherwise engaged, at least until January.

And yes, this Superman of Earth 23 is indeed based on Obama.

He was also fantastic in Death of a Salesman (on Broadway), so I'm confident he can pull off Spiderman.

4. Capes...very few heroes need capes. Batman uses his for many things so he would be an example of anyou exception . Hell, Superman doesnt need a cape. It has nothing to do with his flight abilities.
5. Bright colored Costumes/Uniforms....stop it now! The muted colors of the Superman Returns costume, and the all Black costumes of the Batman films both pre-Nolan and now were the best thing to happen.

The Flash costume from the TV was THE BEST Flash costume I've even seen. The only thing off was the eyes because they were too open. But other that that it was a great costume.

Aww man, I hated that costume. The Flash is supposed to have a lean runner's physique, not bulked up in some bloated oversized pre-sculpted monstrosity.

Don't forget that Batman is Welch, Green Lantern is Canadian and Wolverine, Joker and Thor are Australian.

But the Russian spy Black Widow is 100% American!

Well trim it down. The material and the explanation for it was cool. (A stolen Russian material that resists friction and heat if I recall)

I wonder if they considered any Brits or Aussies for Captain America.

No. It'd be a huge trim down. He's a runner. He's not Hercules.

We have over 300 million people in this country, you would think Hollywood could find one American man in it to play Superman. Of course Hollywood partially does this because they think the movie will sell better overseas if they cast a foreigner. One of the problems is that many of the top executives making studio decisions in Hollywood are not from America. Most actors are awful at completely hiding their normal accents and it's usually pretty easy to guess which ones aren't American in a movie.

^^the area where the inner thigh meets the chub looks weird but then it could be from the legs of the fastest man alive. Also is he wearing underwear? Just curious.

I don't care where the actor is film. As long as he plays the role well...that's all that matters.

when I first heard Ryan Kwaten (Jason on True Blood) speak on his native Aussie accent, I was pretty shocked. I think the stinkers are in the minority. I just hope Cavil nails the part.

Also, sometimes its obvious that they should get an American for a character. Captain America springs to mind.

I think the same should hold for Superman. Didn't he once fight for truth, justice, and the American way? I was quite peeved when he renounced his citizenship.

I'd agree that w/ Cap he had to be an American. Cuz...well...America is part of his name it'd be a huge joke.

Superman though? No.

Gotta love these fanboy arguments.

Really, what does it matter if Batman was portrayed by a Welsh guy and directed by a Brit?
What does it matter if Wolverine was portrayed by an Australian instead of a Canadian?

Is this really an issue for people or just something to talk about to pass the time?

If this were true, they would have cast a Chinese actor. Or maybe an Indian.

It's the Internet. When we run out of real things to bitch about, we start makin' shit up.
