Glad to read Duncan Jones was humble enough to see his own limitations (though I would have loved to see him try). Still let down that Snyder is directing this.

I also appreciate his honesty that his may have been too much for him. He knows his limits.
I think Snyder will do fine in integrating and allowing the kind of world that must encompass the "ridiculous" nature of Superman's world and not make it silly.

Yeah definitely cool that Jones is aware of his inexperience and limitations, now if only Snyder were aware of his.

they should give this movie to Spike Lee and let him roll with it.

You should read this guy's bio before you start tossing such baseless accusations around.

EDIT: I see he was Albert Mondego in The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) and had a role in The Tudors. I barely remember him in the latter since I've only watched it off and on.

He was great in The Tudors (although that was a decidedly different type of roll) and he's a strong actor. Plus he has the look for it and strong screen presence.

if they want SUPERMAN to succeed in the new era they have to make it really badass... these days the wholesome superhero flick with no irony doesn't seem to fit, that is why I actually think Snyder is a good fit for it, he is just simplistic and showy enough to make a good one

He's got plenty of time to pack on the muscle mass (the film is supposed to start shooting in June). Chris Helmsworth wasn't exactly the bulkiest of dudes when he was cast as Thor, and the dude's a freakin' BEAST right now.

But Helmsworth had the frame for it, Cavill will look more stocky with the added mass. A more recent shot of him shirtless:

so in otherwords...he just needs a bit more mass and tons more definition on his body? Patman...stop whining about the muscle aspect...that's easy...actors do it all the time w/ the great trainers they have for these kinds of projects. It'll be fine. He'll look the part unless for some reason he doesn't physically look it.

No, simply putting on muscle with lean/cut definition on a 6'1" frame isn't my ideal Superman casting. I discounted Matt Bomer for the same reason, though he's a ridiculous'y handsome man with the right look, hair, piecing blue eyes, all above the collar bone, but his body frame was too slight even with an extra 25-35 pounds of muscle on it. But I'm confident they'll shoot Cavill at his good angles, and cast with shorter people to give the illusion of being taller than he truly is.

Anyhoo, nothing we say is going to change things, so let's move on to the casting of Lois Lane, what say you?
I'm partial to Rachel McAdams, but if they want to go cheaper, there are some other decent candidates.
