Actually (weirdly) if it were official (it seems to be half official, given the Japanese distributor is not Paramount), that would be a second second film.

Yeah, I read the moviefone article about that (who knew there was a Japanese remake of Alexander Payne's Sideways, set in California, with an all Japanese cast?) Can't think of too many instances where there was a domestic, original sequel to a foreign film that already had a sequel.
