Yeah that actually looks pretty good. Not sure what he thinks looks terrible about it.

anonymous' posts are rarely more than five words long and they're almost always negative. He seems to be one of these people who thinks it's hip to hate everything.

Well, I hate 95% of what comes out Hollywood these days too but this actually looks like a classy, well put-together production.

I'm going to say it looks horrible too. It reminded me of Mr. Magorium's Emporium or whatever that movie was called.

I think people are giving this a break because it's from Scorsese.

i think the trailer would've been better had 30 Seconds To Mars not provided the shitty shitty shitty music.

i think this has potential. maybe it's because Scorsese's name's attached, and maybe because it totally looks like a toned-down piece of Terry Gilliam.

Cry more.

The movie looks like crap, that trailer is extremely poor. I don't want to watch a movie of Borat chasing 2 kids around. Not to mention it's 3D, which going by this board is more than enough reason to hate it, so I don't see what the problem is. People are giving this a pass because it's Scorsese. If it was some random no name, everybody would be going "oh lulz it sucks". It looks exactly like that Wonder Emporium movie, which was crap. How dare I say that the movie looks horrible . If I was one of those people who thinks it's hip to hate everything, I would be in the Transformers thread bitching that the movie didn't have oscar worthy acting and dialogue, complaining about the new Spiderman costume, and bitching that Captain America's shield has scratches on it.

Scorsese isn't infallible. The movie looks like shit.

Sheesh, why shouldn't they? Sure everyone has misfires, but I think he's earned the benefit of the doubt. He didn't cut the trailer.

Lol, no way does this look anything like Mr. Magorium's Emporium unless you are just considering it a kid's movie.

Meh. The similarities are even more profound seeing the trailers right after each other.

The trailer should make the movie look like an kid's adventure and it sort of does except the music is horrible. There's nothing magical or fun about the music. I would love to see someone do a fan edit of this trailer using something more fun and adventurous in place of the shitty lite rock.

I'm down as long as he uses Gimme Shelter for the fourth time.

Movie looks well made, content wise it doesn't look like it's for me.

Horrible trailer and I fucking hate that music playing. Looks visually interesting, as most Scorsese films are, but someone needs to slap whomever made that trailer cuz it was a piece of crap.

As someone said...visually kind of looks like Gilliamesque via Marty.

I know it probably wouldn't work for the audience, but one of the great things about the book was how it was published (black pages with white/grey ink). Too bad they couldn't incorporate that somehow.

I think it looks great, his bold cutting/cinematography seems to be there. Baron Cohen looks like a 'Peter Sellers' style character.

Why not? He's been bringing out 4 or 5 star masterpieces every couple years, for 40 years. maybe only NY NY is a miss, but even that has spark to it.

The music just ruins that trailer.

Fuck this, I was disappointed when I read the plot description for the first time and now after that trailer have written it off completely. GET BACK TO MAKING AWESOME GANGSTER FILMS, SCORSESE!

That trailer was not good, it looks like the movie will be 2 hours of Borat chasing around a couple kids with a dog. With that being said, it's Scorsese and I'm still excited.

I've been waiting for years, ever since Taxi Driver (Jodie Foster was so adorable!), for Scorsese to make a children's film...looking forward to it

Yes, it's all the trailer's fault.

Since none of us have seen the film, we can really only blame this horrible trailer at this point. Saying Scorsese has made a shitty film based only on this trailer would be a huge jump to a conclusion.
